Another safety hits the market

That didn't take long. I liked the chap before the draft, but there must be something terribly wrong for them to be bouncing him this quickly. I'm interested in kicking the tires, I suppose. However, I wouldn't give a big contract.

Well, as others have said he seems to fit the profile of what this front office and coaching staff look for in free agents. I say he's signs with Dallas before the weekend is over.
They waived him injured so at this point he would have to be claimed off waivers or he reverts to raiders IR. Although they might cut him lose at some point if he showed up healthy and asked for his release. Or if they give him an injury settlement.

No one has ever heard of him or wants to sign him so he sounds just like what Dallas is looking for.

Never heard of him? Last year, half the forum board wanted the Cowboys to draft him instead of Taco Charlton. He played with Byron Jones at Connecticut. Melifonwu was a SPARQ phenomenon in the draft just last year. He's one of only four 3-sigma athletes in the entire NFL, along with OT Lane Johnson, DE J.J. Watt, and Cowboys CB Byron Jones.

Anyone who follows the draft knows who Melifonwu is. If you don't, it just means you don't pay attention.

He was being hyped as the next Kam Chancellor due to his size and speed. I'd stash him away because ive become a Kris Richard fan. If marinelli is the defensive lineman whisperer then Richard must be the defensive back whisperer. I feel like he would get melifonwu to his full potential if he could stay healthy. With all of our previous so called gamble's like Gregory, and Smith and Irving off KC's practice squad I could wait half. A season or even until next season for that kind of talent to possibly bloom under Richard. He could be a hybrid LB/SS like Kam Chancellor was

This is one of those draft picks I was horribly wrong about and everyone here was right about

Your not the only one....Loved this kid in the Sr Bowl. And his highlight reel is unbelievable. Thought he might revolutionize the game w/ his size....able to cover so much ground.

Has a hip injury...and can't get well. I still think the talent is there...can't blame the guy for not wanting to play if his body is telling him something else. IMO he might be worth a waiver claim....stash him...get that hip fixed...then see what you got.;)

If this is about an injury, how does he help the Cowboys? ASKING not criticizing..I remember him from last year..If he was waived, passed thru waivers, He on the practice squad or available as a free agent..or Ir practice sd!

They taking the chance nobody would claim him? Im sure more safeties are about to hit the pavement..

A waiver claim make us responsible for his rookie salary? Lol..This is interesting...
