FRISCO, Texas
– Strange how some things someone says can stick in your mind for years and years.

This one I’ll never forget.

My guess is must have been sometime during that 2006 season, probably just a little more than 12 years ago after Tony Romo won his first start in the NFL, beating the Panthers in Carolina, 35-14, after taking over for Drew Bledsoe at quarterback.

Of course, Bill Parcells wanted to keep things in perspective, droning on and on about how it just might be premature to anoint Romo as a Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback. Bill had a way ho-humming his players or team after successes and playing them up after defeats.

Nice article by Spags. We probably need to understand any QB isn't as good as his best game or as bad as his worst game. But, we do need to beat the Giants. I've been wearing a Cowboys hat around all week, and not one high-five, not one question about this week's game, not one anything. That's never happened before that I can recall, but I do know that winning fixes everything, and we need to do that on Sunday, especially against the Giants.

Well, Romo was supposedly amazing in practice, which is why they kept him around, while Dak never practiced well... why do these guys live in denial that there is a trend with Dak? When he gets punched in the mouth, he gets ansy and starts seeing pressure that isn’t there and starts throwing pick 6s.

My guess is. The cowboys media isn’t going to start calling for a New QB until later this season if Dak is still struggling.

I mean your points are right. But right now the company Line is that Dak is the QB for now.

If he doesn’t show some serious improvement throughout this season though. I would imagine the talk about needing to draft a QB high will start getting much louder.

One point towards Dak not being a great practice QB, hes gotten a lot better during practice.

Ive heard that multiple times. Hes still not a great practice QB, but there has been marked improvement. Fwiw

I haven’t given up on Dak yet. But it doesn’t really matter if you’re in his corner or not. He’s all they have this year. There’s a reason they stuck with Rush as the backup. He’s no threat at all to Dak. I think competition is better personally but the FO wants Dak to feel no pressure from behind him and that’s obvious.

Maybe he will be the next QB coach once Kellen takes over the OC

Sure, Dak says the right things and gave what the people wanted to hear doesn't mean his physical talent can live up to what it needs to be.

There's a lot of professional athletes that may have the right mental make up but if you don't have the skills, then it doesn't matter. In saying that, I haven't given up on Dak but my patience with what he's shown in games is getting shorter and shorter.

Shut up, Spagnola. Go pick up your check from Jerry.

In before someone posts Dak's stats from the last 9 games.

I have the excels for this.

Here's the chart for working recent -> historical.

Most recent 4 games = 68.82. Most recent 8 games = 73.82. Most recent 23 games = 88.57. Most recent 33 games = 95.05 (career passer rating).

It's week two and the alternatives are Cooper Rush and Mike White, so yeah.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if the Cowboys don't lose 10 games.

Because there isn’t.
