Dak wasn't that good last night **merged**

16/25 for 160, that's a 64% completion rate and 6.4 yards par pass...which is bad onto it self......one play was for 64...which is good, but that means he was 15/24 for 96 yards.....and a paltry 4 yards per pass attempt.... that's ugly. really ugly... that means that teams don't respect the deep or medium throws and willing to gamble...yes they gave up a 64 TD pass, but that's one play....

one thing that was evident again last night, in the second half TD drive, he was setting his feet and making the throws...they were on target and had zip....then he was ugly footwork again for a lot of the other throws....

OK...as suspect # 1 here as not believing in Dak have to say as its being over-killed here let's accept the following as facts and move on to the rest of the season with the rest of the team as here-below is the reality of the situation.....

1. Dak will NEVER be a top Quality Throwing QB he simply doesn't have the God given talent!!!!
2. Dak in order to win needs a his supporting cast on offense esp Zeke and the offline to perform 100% or else the game is lost.
3. Dak also needs a TOP NOTCH defense (Ravens 2000 defense) or you can forget about the word Superbowl.
4. Dak is pretty much what we have this season and hold a small basket but let's all hope for the best.
5. Dak should be replaced in the off-season with a new prospect (Mahomes type rook) even if we have to trade the house to get him in the draft as without a quality QB we're just wasting good talent.

We can debate the above till our fingers hurt but in the end the above situation is the REALITY for our team and the FO needs to make the necessary moves to move us forward to new moments of Glory!

I don't disagree, good QBs use all 9 quadrants of the field to attack the defense. deep balls are good, but intermediate shots are bread and butter. deep shots have lower probability of success.
Yeah. I think Rico dropped one and so did Gallup. Would have been 2 really good plays missed. Luckily we didn’t need them.

Prescott played pretty much as well as he can play so credit to him. With the defense dominating like that, his level of play is fine against weaker teams.

The jury is out against a team like the Rams or Vikings but it was much better than last week.

The focus now is the defense - Irving to come back as well. Finally a bit of hope!

Prescott just needs to drive the bus like last night - that is the blueprint.

Personally I don't think it will work against the top sides but that's just my view.

I wish the posters proclaiming Dak as horrible or great would just go to their own thread so we could actually have a conversation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

conversation with your snide remarks are pretty great. no wonder they shut that dump down. Every comment of yours has to have a snide jab in.

couldn't agree more....its water under the bridge.... but I wanted so bad to trade up and get wentz....the cost would have been much smaller then....not saying zeke is bad or not a good pick, but wentz over zeke.....yes, risky but everyone here is going gaga over the moves eagles made....then you have to take some calculated risks.......

I'm not convinced dak is the answer still. I think he has the rest of this year to prove that one way or the other.

However i really feel like the coaches are part of the reason he stalls out in games. Both times this year when we've opened things up on offense we've scored points. Idk if its a case of the staff not trusting dak, or the offense just being conservative once we get a lead. But let the guy throw. He was in command last night, and making the right reads. Can't play scared all the time.

I'd like to see them get him into rythm a bit better. They did that early last night but then totally took him out of the game it felt.

Couldn't disagree more, there's so much more to a QB then what his numbers suggest, Dak was totally in control last night, most of his incompletions came from pressure where he had to throw the ball away, and most importantly Dak was a huge weapon on the ground with the zone read, not only getting huge chunks of yards, but taking hits and bouncing right up, while moving the chains or keeping the team at manageable 3rd downs. He had 7 carries for 45 yards from your QB..
a QB gets paid to throw not run and use his legs...that' icing.

Your are spot on!1 I say lets ditch the bum and go get............... well that other great, perfect all pro Qb waiting on us to call.....
I don't disagree. the point is that lets be realistic with our expectations this year. this is not going to be a 11-5 or 10-6 team. 9-7 is out of this world and looking somewhere between 5-11 to 8-8. and in the off season it has to be full force going after a legit QB, trade up, trade, etc. ... I don't see many trades for any QB right now, but hopefully there is a couple of good ones and we can trade up...which pretty much means then next couple of years would be shot....

or....will Romo agree to come back....just kidding

He's mainly getting dump off passes, they're not designed throws. And you said HORRID, can't make that judgment based on 8 catches.
To this point he is horrid catching the ball. Like i said, i watch other backs take the same passes and make plays.

I expect the guy to be a factor out of the backfield.

Typical Cowboys fanbase. Nothing but complaining after a win because we didn't win 60-0 , Zeke didn't run for 300 and Dak wasn't 40/41 for 450yds and 6TDs.

Also, I have no idea why people love to discount plays and take them out of the equation to try and make a point. That play happened and it was huge. It set the tone early in this game and the Cowboys never looked back. Held that lead for 57min. It was a beautiful play. It was one play but it was the only play we needed last night to win that game.

Dak was a surgeon on the 8:30min drive to seal the game.

Winning is better than losing.

Last week a post asked if you were the OC what would you do?

My post was:
1. Roll Dak out.
2. Screens
3. Designed runs for Dak when Zeke is in the backfield.
4. Flea flicker
5. Quick slants.

Didn't get but two of those wishes, but the ones they did, worked!

Maybe get some more this week?
I said dial a deep play early. If it hits great, hopefully bolster some confidence and at least show the defense we will go deep. If we miss, so what, if it gets picked, it sucks, but get a stop. I would make sure we dial up another 2-3 deep balls in the game and get the defense looking for deep routes. We can't hit the deep routes if we don't try them. Tell Dak, as long as you have 1on1 coverage, let it fly and let our guys make a play.

I also wanted Zeke more involved in the pass game, more touches/targets to Tavon and RPOs for Dak.

I think so too!!!

I have yet to see an accurate analysis of Dak from you!!!!

I think the reason you saw the deep theirs is they were scripted and practiced. After those plays ran out it was back to the Dak we knew. 160 yards is not going to win you games consistantly in the NFL

So in other words Scott Linehan needs to do his job and keep the offense creative throughout four quarters instead of one or two
