Dak wasn't that good last night **merged**

there is some rumors that coaching staff wanted Romo back when he got over his injury a couple of years back...but Stephen and Jerry wanted Dak to play and worried about disrupting the apple cart per se..... now, Romo retired....the coaching staff has no choice but to play with Dak...you can only scheme your way out of incompetency so much....dak wasn't accurate again last night....
Wait a minute. Dak was throwing bullets last night to some very tight windows. He did miss a few but overall he was much improved. Also, you talk about scheme as a positive thing with this coaching staff. That's were you discredit your entire basis here. They've never schemed well. It was all Romo doing his own thing. Did you watch the game?

Oh, and look up how to use a...it's only three...see what I am doing?

Seriously, Dak was throwing lazers last night. He missed some throws, and he always will, but he was throwing w/ some zip.

Sort of like the criticism that Aikman got when he got elected to the HOF: "He only threw more than 20 tds once in his career, he only threw for X yards, blah, blah, blah".
But he won 3 SBs, when he needed to chunk the pigskin for 300 yards or 4 tds, he did it. The point is to win games...

Big stats aren't guaranteed to win games either all of the time. Remember games where Romo throw for 300+ yards and multiple TDs, just for the Cowboys to lose (Which was a lot of the fault of the Cowboys defense in those games). Yet, Romo has had great games where in the end he makes a costly INT.

If Dak had put up a multiple TD game last night, with 300+ yards. I still think some would say they weren't impressed with his performance since the Giants aren't a good team to some people or if he put up big stats to throw a costly INT to hand the Giants the win then he would be getting bashed for that.

Dak looked much more accurate last night than he did week one. I didn't see him trying to strong arm as many throws. I also saw him pull a throw down, continue his progression and find another open man. He was so check down happy. He also used his legs which is a tremendous asset they have to continue to utilize.

All thay said, he has a long way to go. He is slow on his progressions and his pocket awareness is awful at times. He still needs work on his deep sideline throws, but they looked much better last night.

I still believe coaching/play calling is the main culprit behind this offenses issues.

What is points out to me is we have guys who catch the ball and get tackled.

Other qbs make the same throws and guys make plays for them.

Who is making plays on this team? Zeke has been horrid out of the backfueld...I watch Gurley catch the same balls and make plays.

This is a huge problem.

Keep blaming the young qb playing his *** off though.
keep coming up with excuses..... put the ball in front of the WR to catch, so he can run with it afterwards, instead of stopping to catch the ball that was thrown behind them. then you will see these guys make plays. and gurley makes plays because the defense respects their passing game, when they don't the RB gets neutralized....

2013 - Russell Wilson won the SB, playoffs passing - avg. 174 yards a game, 1 td a game.
2015 - Payton Manning won the SB, playoffs passing - avg. 178 yards a game, 0.67 tds a game. After a regular season with 229 yard a game, 9 tds total in 10 games.

You do not have to be a Brees or Brady to win SBs, stat-wise. Is it common? No, but some here act like it's near-impossible.

Besides, we had 10 years with Romo with the gaudy stats, and got how many SB appearances? Playoff wins?

Nobody's saying Dak is perfect, but some act like he's Brandon Weeden....
OK, lets hope our defense is like the 2013 seattle or the 2015 Denver......

There was a drop passes and he miss Rico for some completions. That's my only gripe on the matter. Especially the miss to Rico. That has to be money.

Typical Cowboys fanbase. Nothing but complaining after a win because we didn't win 60-0 , Zeke didn't run for 300 and Dak wasn't 40/41 for 450yds and 6TDs.

Also, I have no idea why people love to discount plays and take them out of the equation to try and make a point. That play happened and it was huge. It set the tone early in this game and the Cowboys never looked back. Held that lead for 57min. It was a beautiful play. It was one play but it was the only play we needed last night to win that game.

Dak was a surgeon on the 8:30min drive to seal the game.

Winning is better than losing.
its not complaining. its observation. its great we won. believe I was on the edge of my seat to the end and their coach made a stupid blunder but at this rate, we should expect and hope the defense keeps the games close and we pull the games out. this offense is not that good right now.

I watched the game and it was partly Romo, because he made the throws and he was accurate. all good QBs are extension of the coach and OC in the league..do you think Rodgers just runs exactly the play the coach calls? or does he make adjustments... brees? brady? wentz? roth? Geoff? part of the QBs job is to make plays, make tight throws, change plays, adjust the offense, etc..... we are not asking Dak to do anything any other good QB hasn't done or can do...

and everyone wants to blame the scheme....it worked for Romo? and it worked in 2016....now it doesn't..... and based on review of last weeks' game, there wasn't much wrong with the scheme, where players were open all over the field, and Dak just plain missed them....

I dont care about the yards but his bouts of bad footwork for a 3rd year QB is very concerning, its especially evident on his sideline throws when he has to reset his feet and throw.

I think so too!!!

I have yet to see an accurate analysis of Dak from you!!!!
Dak was told to quit over thinking things and just go out and play. This is the only way to overcome the glitch.

conversation with your snide remarks are pretty great. no wonder they shut that dump down. Every comment of yours has to have a snide jab in.
Didn't you just get done whining about fans being sensitive? The irony.

I think that may be accurate.

I think some of last week was trying to fit Dak into what they wanted instead of working w/ what he is.

Hey, be nice to the handicapped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
typical smart *** remark from you.. put your mod tag back on and pretend your opinion matters.

Ksk at a bar,

Hey girls you might not know this but I'm sort a big deal. I'm an ex mod at a forum. lmao

I agree. He stepped up and played like he's capable. What some fans need to get through their thick skulls is that this is what Prescott is. He's not jamming flashy team passing records and he's not a statue. He will probably never be the Romo so many can't get over here. But he's far from a bad QB. He needs what nearly all QBs need. A good team around him.

I would rather have a unstoppable defense than what we've had in the past. Prescott can't be expected to carry a team. He's a different QB. And if the staff gets their offensive heads out of their *****, we should win a bunch of games. There is nothing wrong with how we beat NY. For some, it will never be good enough.
