Dak wasn't that good last night **merged**

I think some of that is the type of plays called up for Gurley vs Zeke in the passing game. Zeke is rarely the primary target unless it's a screen pass, he's usually relegated to dump off duty. Gurley has more pass plays called as the primary, short flares, flats etc. That is something missing from our playcalling. That's up to the coaches to design and implement. I've been yelling for us to do that more often for awhile. Zeke should be catching 5-6 balls a game not 2-3.

Agree with all your commentary. Zeke can make guys miss if they aren't on top of him, and even then he rarely is brought down immediately.

Cowboys fans love to nitpick wins. Dak was successful last night and played solid. I’m thankful for that. He shook off some of the rust for not playing much in preseason.

Also noticed on some plays its was 2 seconds and ball was gone....

The scheme has failed. Even in last week's game it failed. There's a few videos on YouTube that break all that down. Again, I also have been very hard on Dak and will continue to do so but our coaching has just as much to do with this as Dak. A clear example is the Cowboys were 3rd and inches and they run a sweep to the right. We pull a rookie to go out and block and he gets called for holding. Why not just QB sneak it (like they do in the next series) or run right up the middle. This offense still has the tendency to get too cute when it shouldn't.

the scheme was fine last week and Dak missed a whole bunch of open WRs. we can point to one individual play and make a sweeping assumptions on everything...there wer plays that didn't work. but there were plays to be had, ala the skip ball to Jarwin, the bad throw to Gallup, the big miss on Williams streaking down the right side.... no coach and I mean no coach is going to call a perfect game in the NFL...they make calls, and they feel how the offense works against a defense and defensive gme plan during the game...... and you can't call the same play on a situation every time...that makes you....drum roll please...predictable as everyone likes to call around here..... and if we avoid calling plays, asyou gave one example to avoid rookies in certain situations, then we get a limited play book and everyone complains about a vanilla offense and predictable play calls.... you can't have it both ways.... and if he called the 3rd and short with a QB sneak and he got stuffed, we be here complaining as we have in the past, about calling predictable plays and why not call a sweep......

btw, the breakdown clearly showed Dak had a bad game....really bad game last week

Wrong, a QB gets paid to WIN!!
wrong. every player gets paid to win, not just the QB....

but QBs job is to throw..... and make plays and provide the opportunity for the team to win..... a running QB should go back to wish bone offense. if a QB can't make accurate throws from the pocket...then he is not worth it

It wasn't a perfect game but there's always fans that find a way to complain about something.

Seriously, Dak was throwing lazers last night. He missed some throws, and he always will, but he was throwing w/ some zip.
in the last TD drive, he made some good throws.... made a few good completions...he was dropping back, looking at his options, throwing with anticipation, setting his feet...for large part of the game, he was making jump balls, throwing off balance, pulling the ball down quickly and going for the run... his body won't take the hits if he continues like this...

this is a young team that is learning they need to change the offense not be dependent on the tightends and go more 4 wr sets spread the defense out they are also missing one of the best centers in the game they were two plays away from scoring 14 more points in that game

Lolol..Flat lie..however i think you mising the fact a jag playing center, and a undersized rook has faced two very solid tacklez in the Nfl..To say that the obvious issues there have no bearing on Daks play naive at best..

Yes Dak needs to hit more of those open receivers and especially the tight ends..He played better this week and the outcome showed it!!

16/25 for 160, that's a 64% completion rate and 6.4 yards par pass...which is bad onto it self......one play was for 64...which is good, but that means he was 15/24 for 96 yards.....and a paltry 4 yards per pass attempt.... that's ugly. really ugly... that means that teams don't respect the deep or medium throws and willing to gamble...yes they gave up a 64 TD pass, but that's one play....

one thing that was evident again last night, in the second half TD drive, he was setting his feet and making the throws...they were on target and had zip....then he was ugly footwork again for a lot of the other throws....
Aint that the truth.
