Hype from fans, just as fans dogging players, especially both on here. Is far different than the coaches and team point of view is.

Way too early right now. It will take a little time for him and Dak to get on the same page. Of course, Dak's passing stats are leaving much to be desired as well, so hard to blame the receivers at this point.

If Dez was to be "replaced" by anyone this season it's Hurns, who was signed in free agency before the draft.

He seems far more useless than Gallup, who is paid less and is a rookie. What's Hurns excuse?

Historically speaking for every WR for every modern NFL team there has not been many rookie WRs that have produced at a high level their rookie season let alone 2 games into the season. Regardless of hype or what round they were drafted. I want to see Gallup flash just like everyone else but I will not be disappointed if he does not surpass 800 yds. He is not being featured and needs to earn the targets. Having said that, Dak, missed Gallup on a throw against the Panthers, which he could have done some damage with yac. Plenty of games left for Gallup to show what he can do.

Rookie receivers almost never significantly contribute their first year in the league. Takes 2, usually 3, years before they are making a big impact. And often, they never do.

Yes, he's a rookie, and a third round pick at that. And he expected in two games to replace the all-time Cowboys TD reception leader?

We might want to temper those expectations just a tad? I mean, is there ONE receiver taken ANYWHERE in this years draft who is playing at that level?

Ironically if that's how he plays, he is exactly replacing Dez...I would expect he has not peaked in week 2 of his career.

he is a rookie WR in his second game...so you expect him to be Dez like? is that the right expectations? and you also assume its all him...perhaps QB play also has something with it....he does run good routes, has good hands and has what many refer to as deceptive speed...... I guess you didn't like Dez getting cut...

Gallup’s played in two NFL games; games in which the OC and QB were still — and likely still are — figuring out their receiver options.

Ummm some fans might have said that but in no way did they draft a guy in the 3rd round to be the immediate replacement of Dez. This was always going to be WR by committee for this season. No one guy was brought in to replace Dez. I am not sure what you expected from a rookie in his first few games. There are going to be growing pains for sure. Did you expect him to already be better than Dez was in his prime?
