Wasn't Gallup supposed to replace Dez? Because I don't see anything from him. He's not fast, he runs lazy routes, I suppose he has good hands but I haven't seen anything up to this point. Can he block? He looks like a worse version of old dez.

Am I missing something? I know he's a rookie but damn.

While i am disappointed in his production to this point, let's give him a chance. I predict by the 10th game he will be starting.

I would like for it to happen now and force feed him the ball. He will grow. He has shown an ability to get deep and run good routes, his hands have been terrible, which is not his M.O.

Let's be patient with him.

The problem was for some fans in their desire to claim the WRs corps was just fine and would be really good is that they ignored the reality that rookie WRs often take some time to get their feet under them. It might even take a full season. You occasionally get some rookies who make immediate, big impacts but it's not that often.

People should have tempered their expectations of Gallup and gone into this knowing the kid would likely need some time, maybe a lot of time, to get acclimated to the NFL game.

I still think he'll be a good WR and it's way to early to project what he is or won't be.

I am pretty sure it was Hurns who was suppose to.

At least I remember being told over and over again in the off season that he could easily produce what Dez did last year.

(Even that low bar looks kinda of high for him now)

  • He is a rookie
  • Rookie WRs take time
  • Only 2 games have been played
  • Be patient

He is a rookie and was a third round pick. Never buy into the early hype.

Butler may be that guy though, may never be what Dez was, but has large catch radius and can go up as we have all seen.

No, he wasn't.
Gallup was just another addition to go along with the additions of Hurns, Austin, and Thompson
Usually rookie WRs don't really start producing until year 3.
The hope is he will be better than all of the other additions by then

Bryant finished his rookie season with 45 receptions for 561 yards and six receiving touchdowns.

The pup is learning and may take awhile...

I get that but this guy had some serious hype around here. I have yet to see any glimpse of something special. That's why I'm asking. What has he shown thus far? To me absolutely nothing.
