Nobody could make defenders miss in tight spaces the way Emmitt could either.

Elliot is currently as productive as Emmitt ever was, but the key to Emmitt’s greatness was in his longevity. In the late 1990s, I remember thinking Terrell Davis was about to supplant Emmitt as the new iron man, workhorse back. Yet, somehow, Emmitt managed to outlast him.
