By bringing back Romo you are admitting that Dak has been a failure and Dak won't be assessed by Jerry Jones until the season is done anyway.

Dez went for a reason, poor performances including too many drops and I think he has lit too many fires with some of the current players.

Romo plays golf recreationally. That’s as bad on your body as it gets without physical contact. I think his body could take half a season of football. Better than his knowledge and insight being wasted on Vikings-bills games. 0.1 chance of happening.

Dez needs to be brought back

Hahaha seriously, I can list a dozen things done recreationally much harder on your body than golf....

Ever wonder why you see a bunch of retirees playing golf but not lets say pickup basketball, or rugby or kickball...haha what a laugh

I think the majority that don't agree aren't dismissive but more practical...dez burned every bridge on the way out and romo is 2 years out of the game....thinking they are coming back is quite a stretch even for this forum
if there's one thing I've learned in my 19 years of watching the Jones family manage this franchise, is that practicality got thrown out the window a very long time ago

Tell that to Tiger Woods. There’s a big difference playing golf using a golf cart and a handicap of 27 than walking and being a scratch player.

But it doesn't mean necessarily that they're coming back in the same situation as before. Dez, yes, but maybe Romo replaces Kellen Moore as QB coach. Or is a Special Consultant like they attempted to do with Dan Reeves.
valid point

Sort of curious - how could they bring Dez back, as far as the salary cap rules? He was owed a boatload of money, by releasing him the team saved money.

So what would prevent any team, that had a player with a high salary cap hit from just releasing them and re-signing them for less money? Would be a very convenient way to reduce your cap hit, and it's hard to see the NFL allowing that. There would be no way to know if the player really wasn't wanted, or didn't want to play anymore, he'd just "retire", sit around for a few weeks or months and then magically return to the team for a lower salary.

Remember Junior Seau, said "I don't want to/can't play anymore" and left, only to sign with the Pats a short time later, at a low salary, rather than the Pats having to suck up his Chargers salary/give up draft picks to get him. Just another way for the Patriots to cheat, or at least bend the rules to suit them.

I'm no salary cap expert, maybe somebody here can figure it out, not saying they couldn't re-sign Dez or Tony, but it seems way too easy...

If it happened it would be Super Bowl or bust. Bring it on and let’s see if Romo can carry this team to a title. Dak isn’t going to do it and it would at least shut the Romo fanboys up because failure to win will be entirely on Romo’s shoulders since defenses quit being a legit excuse in the 2016 playoffs. Rust stopped being an excuse in Philly week 17.

Bring him back and let’s see if he can do or die. Best case we win a title, worst case Romo fans shut up. Win/win.

Just finished listing to Podcast with KT and he is hearing whispers from Ben Rogers (who has been correct several times & has good sources) that following might transpire in next week or so:

1. Tony Romo & Dez Bryant might be signed. Dallas currently has $18 million in available cap space.
2. Current league rules on QB would heavily favor Romo return.
3. Dez Bryant continues to insist with Mike Fisher that he still sees himself as Dallas Cowboy.

Buckle in. The internet will break if this goes down.
Dez is a possibility.

Romo is a remote possibility, only real scenario it occurs is if Dak tears his ACL or something along those lines this weekend. If that happens, and we win, sitting at 3-2, after Romo's interview this week, I could see it happening. At minimum, a phone call between Jerry and Tony will take place.

They cut Dez before his salary for this year was guaranteed.

You don't get that there is a difference between recreational golf players vs professional golf players?

Again, the statement he made was that recreational golf is the hardest thing on your body and compared to it being a step below professional football....that is a laughable statement which is my point

To those who want Jason gone, and who think JJ is only about how much money he can make from the Cowboys, this quote from a book about the Cowboys:

""I don't think he ever felt he could coach the team," former Cowboys fullback Daryl Johnston said. "The thing about him that people have to understand is that he has made good decisions and poor decisions throughout his tenure as the owner, president and general manager of the team, but all he wants to do is win. That's all he wants to do"

Don't look for Jason to be gone anytime soon. Jerry still thinks he's the cat's meow as NFL general managers go, he's not, but he is trying to win, just can't see the obvious truth staring him in the face - he needs a real football general manager if he wants more SBs...

As a Romosexual I don't see him returning. I'm about to turn 30. And my body is breaking down. I just don't see him putting himself through more beatings when he has a history of injury. Unfortunately his prime was wasted by this same crazy owner. Dez Bryant I would welcome back with open arms. Romo I have accepted his time is done and I am now rooting for Dak Prescott to succeed.

If Romo even THOUGHT about playing again, he’d snap his clavicle and rupture a disk or two.
:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

You don't know that and if he does just put Dak in. The clavicle has healed by now and has like 4 screws and gorilla glue holding it in place
