Agree... I prefer to start the 2nd half with the ball. Trust our D to start off with a stop— and hopefully end the first half with a score, and start with a score.
Hard to overcome back to back scoring drives in this league and points are all the more critical based on the style we prefer to play.
I can see why Garrett loves to get the ball and score first— it’s just that it so rarely happens for us now.
R U gonna sport some carrot colored tennis shoes on every game day henceforth? As that simple act of humble contrition would prolly pack a whole lotta' weight with the RIGHT PLAYERS,,, ya know? It's not nice to blame Garrett.......gotta kiss his butt. He is the best. I give him credit for defering. Garrett Rules!!!
I thought the Lions won the toss and deferred.
This is great news that Dallas deferred
They probably deferred. The week before Seattle won the toss and elected to kick off.
Ya well,,, I'm pretty sure I'm still suffering long term lingering effects from merely witnessing the closing 30 seconds in the first half of that K.C. game last year
* no way we handle that K.C. team if we drew their card this season (IMO)[/QUOTE
Brilliant observation since neither has 4 teams so far failed. They are 4-0
Love it, love getting the ball first in the 2nd half. Obviously it is random but it also seems we end up on defense to end the first half and so many times a team has scored to end the 1st or start the 2nd or BOTH. Didnt the Giants in that playoff game score at the end of the half and open the 2nd with another score?I was a little blown away with this decision Sunday. Finally!!!! nice job!
Just because you don't receive doesn't mean you'll have the last possession of the first half.I still don't really understand the benefit of receiving. Even if you score first the idea of holding that 7 point lead (or 3) for 60 minutes is a little ridiculous. Where as the benefit of scoring to end the half and start the 3rd can create momentum that far outweighs receiving in the 1st. Maybe that scenario doesn't happen too often, but I'd rather play for that than the first score. Just makes very little sense.
