Cowboys turnover ranking is 32nd which has to change

And Earl Thomas would beg to differ on Dak’s pick count.

Both of Thomas INT were the result of luck. The first was because Gallup missed a ball he should have caught and popped it into Thomas hands, and on the second it was one of Thomas teammates that broke up the pass and caused the ball to pop into Thomas hands. He gets credit for being near the play, but he did not intercept passes by stepping in front of a receiver. As for Dak's part, Dak was not responsible for the 1st one, but he was for the 2nd one.

We get pressure. We are third in the league in sacks, behind only Chicago and Indianapolis. We had Cam and Eli running for their lives.

The Cowboys use DL stunts to get pressure. It's Marinelli's alternative to blitzing.

The problem is that when stunts don't work, it tends to result in less pressure on that snap than just straight-ahead pass rushing. It also tends to result in less DL with hands up forcing QBs to throw around them.

The Cowboys pass rush also tends to be predictable as compared to some blitz heavy type teams. A QB might get pressured but if he knows where the pressure is going to come from, it keeps him from making bad decisions.

Add to that the fact that the Cowboys top pass rusher goes against the RT which is the front side for right hand QBs.

How often has the Cowboys pass rush hit the QBs arm as he was throwing?

Linebackers get interceptions, and so do lineman. The defense as a whole is not getting turnovers.

Rob Ryan was fired because he didn't always show ul for work, was often late, let his assistant (Eberflus) do his work and when he was there he argued with the other coaches.

This may be true but Garrett said it was all about changing defensive schemes for more turnovers. Hint ...Montey Kiffin was hired. What you're saying could very be true and Garrett used the scheme change as cover.

Gallup basically caught the ball then fumbled but he was a fraction of a second short of it being considered possession; therefore they called it and INT.

The pass to the TE would have hit him if the defender didn't jump in front of him. The TE got too much depth past the defender which made it easy for the defender to contest the ball ending up with it being tipped into the air.

These were not the type of throws that were too high or too wide and the receiver just barely touched the ball.

You never saw a lineman get an interception off of a ball swatted in the air? All I'm saying is that this defense can incorporate a game plan that involves lineman, not just rushing, but blocking throwing lanes with their arms up (See J.J. Watts). Batted down passes lead to three and outs, or interceptions. Not a high volume, but Ed Jones made a living off of batting down passes. The defense as a whole can do better.

I'd say the second one was mostly Dak's fault. It was a terrible decision to throw the pass to a guy that wasn't open.
