Yes, I know his fumble was unforgivable. He also whiffed on the two wide open wrs for td on a single play.

But you can see the confidence growing in his throwing, he's starting to look down field for those chunk plays. I say we stick it out with him this season. I think he's in the middle of finding his stride right now. That being said, if he regresses or doesn't continue on this path depending on our options in FA/ draft, put the writing on the wall.
confidence shouldn't be an issue with his throwing in his third year....if we are talking about him, 7 games into his third season growing his confidence in his throwing, we are in bigger trouble than we know....

This is the WHOLE season. Look at the middle of the field and his avoidance of it, besides all his checkdowns. He’s leaving huge chunks of yardage by not even throwing there. It’s ridiculous and this is with defenses playing single safety back there.

Confidence is growing?? Dude who are you watching? That whole game was a clinic on anxiety in the pocket.

Please note the word, improving. Not improved. Work in progress still clearly. But, clearly he was better last game than he has been in the rest of the season so far.

Well, you are for sure gonna get your wish. JJ is out to prove that he knows football and he can pick a winner. Even though he threw away a perfectly good WR for some strange reason, he now feels the need to go out and get another one. Well, back to the OP.
I don't see any confidence. I don't see him looking down field unless it's to see if the DB's backs are turned so he can run. #4 is a slower, smaller version of SCam Newton. The big difference in the two is that #1 has a cannon for an arm and #4 has a Red Rider BB Gun, neither is accurate, but #1 can launch the ball nearly 70 yds on the fly and let burners run under it like Willie Mays. #4 almost always under-throws wide open receivers and causes them to have to slow down allowing the DB's to make plays on what should be easy scores.
Just watch the plays closely, not just the fact that the pass is caught, but where it is caught in comparison to where it should be caught. The devil is in the details.

I will say i think dak does have a clue out there. To say he doesn't isn't fair to him.

He has a command of this offense i would say better than last year. His deep ball and a couple throws down the middle were pretty solid yesterday. Throwing wise i thought he had a pretty good day.

However.... he's still somewhat afraid to take chances. Which is troubling. I think he does recognize at times when guys are open. I just think its engrained in his head to not take chances. Doesn't help he has a coach that plays the game scared as well.

Hoping that when teams stack the box we can take advantage now with a speed guy like cooper.

It will be interesting to see how Dak performs with a legitimate receiver.

You mean the same Dak that said in the off-season they didn’t need a number 1 WR, because it prevented him from spreading the ball around. Even those criticizing Dez on TV are now saying Dez wasn’t the problem and even Chris Carter ate crow on live TV saying Dez wasn’t the problem.

I love how you frame all your excuses for Dak in such non-chalant ways...

I think, he looks better right now than he did at the beginning of the season. Funny how things flip here, I got blasted for advocating straight up cutting dak during FA, I'm still not far from that if a good change can be made at qb i'm for it. I'm not saying sign him now, but I don't feel as discouraged as I did a few weeks ago

He is improving. I like everything about Dak. His fight. His leadership, his toughness but this season is the beginning of his trial. You now have Amari Cooper. This guy is awesome. He Gallup and Beasley will make defenses pay. There is no doubt. Dak needs to make it happen. I'm excited. Cooper is a great player. If he comes in focused , ready to work and win, his presence is going to show in not just the passing game but how he helps the run game

I can agree he ‘looks better’ than the beginning of the season, but it’s looks better in Dak context, which means nothing for the offense as a whole. He is what he is by now and he FITS TO A TEE what his pre draft scouting profile says. The guy has basically maximized his potential. He’s a good backup.

I mean these aren’t scheme issues here, what we are talking about is being scared, sensing non-existent pressure, anxiety, not throwing WRs open, pulling back to run when he has guys open, rolling into pressure. His accuracy issues are well known and WRs have to slow down for throws and made off adjustments.

I mean no scheme is going to correct what he is, unless a miracle happens and he gets bit by a radioactive Dan Marino giving him QB superpowers.
