Yup. Let's fire the guy. The super coach that can fix the mess is sittin on his couch waiting for our call.

Our OL has started slow each of the last three seasons. It’s not just Alexander. Take Frederick out and put a rookie in at LG and it’s not all that surprising.

What’s hurt us is both OTs have had their consistency drop off significantly.

That said, Alexander doesn’t seem to have had a positive impact anyplace. I thought he was an upgrade coming in, but our OL isn’t the force it used to be by any measure.

Dak is on pace for 52 sacks, but I'm sure people would rather blame the oline for not giving him more time.

Until I see Dak adjust to the blitz, hot route and/or motion a receiver and stop holding the ball when 3 of the 5 receivers are open I simply cannot focus on the offensive line. This isn't dismissing them as a problem, I just feel the bigger problem is the QB not helping them out. I said last year the blame for the offense is going to the line in 2018, predictable.

And if the oline was a bigger problem than the receivers why didn't we trade our 1st round pick for OL instead? And then why not discuss whether or not the receivers coach should be fired? It just seems silly to keep putting blame everywhere but where it's obvious.

If a QB gets sacked 52 times, you have problems w/ your OL.

Who says trading for a WR was the correct move? This org has been littered w/ very questionable moves for over 20 years.

Thus far, the Dallas Cowboys’ 2018 season has been a herky-jerky ride that has left the organization at a crossroads.

Now sitting at 3-4, the Cowboys head into the Week 8 bye with more questions than answers. In this series, we’ll look at the four biggest questions surrounding the team as they move into their second-half of the schedule.

Part 1: How big of an impact can Cooper’s have on the passing game?
Part 2: Is it time for Paul Alexander to go?
Part 3: Is Dak Prescott a viable long-term solution?
Part 4: How many wins does Jason Garrett need to return?

The blame can be spread around.

Alexander, from the beginning, was not the right coach for this group. It's done, however, and the offensive coaching staff is going to have to collectively come up with ways to maximize the talent on the o-line.

On one of the podcasts, Nick Eatman alluded to there being disappointment within the ranks in both the locker room and front office concerning Alexander's coaching.

I heard on some report or podcast that Alexander wasn't satisfied with just tinkering with the NFL's best OL upon his arrival. He wanted to change how they played and implemented entirely new methods on hands and feet techniques. I guess this frustrated the OL and they've been unhappy all season with playing methods that were so foreign to them. Interesting discussion. I'd just been pegging their performance to Frederick's loss, a green Conner and a backup center. But, it looks like the fundamentals have been changed on them. I can see why there is frustration.

No we are past this mid season type firings..let them all ride and fire them ALL at seasons end..yes eve Ricard im tired of all the patch work Staffs..you let the new HC HIRE ALL OF HIS STAFF. Sure Ricard deserves an interview for the HC and DC postions with the new HC but in NO WAY should Jerry and Stephen have any power to force any of these guys on the new HC..its been going on way too long..they fired all the assistants already kept OC and DC and HC..its not working..let this play out and clean house for 2020

wishful thinking. They love Garrett and even he doesn't get to hire his own staff. It's part of the dysfunction this team has.

Sure.

But firing him alone is just chair shuffling on the Titanic at this point. If the two idiot Jones feel the need to have to fire a couple more offensive assistants this year, then it's a clear sign they are just now in complete and utter protection mode with Garrett.

Usually I would agree, but in this case...

Colombo time

Right guy, right place, right message.

Unlike other guys who were just kind of anointed, Colombo has done his time as an assistant and working with player personnel. He worked under Callahan and Pollack before Alexander.

Normally I'd agree. Aaron Rodgers has been sacked over 50 times and close to 50 times for a few seasons. A lot of those sacks came from him trying to make something out of nothing. In our instance I feel like Dak is having a hard time seeing past the line of scrimmage pre/post-snap. The packers line didn't magically go from bad to good (a lot better in comparison) in one year when they went from 8.65% sack rate to 6.1%, more decisiveness and a faster release corrected that.

Daks rookie season he was at 5.1% sack rate, 2017 was 6.1 and this year is 10%. This year is terrible. And it matches with what I'm seeing from his decision making and inability to adjust presnap. Romos worst year was 6.5% in 2011 with rookie Tyron Smith, Montrae Holland, Phil Costa, Kyle Kosier, and Doug Free in his worst season. I don't buy for a second our current line is so much worse than the 2011 line.

This is why I'm not buying the excuses that majority blame is elsewhere but the QB.

Yes he needs to adjust the play and protection when he sees a blitz coming.
