2010 Chargers are the answer.

They actually finished with the #1 offense AND defense, yet missed the playoffs

Are you sure you don’t mean #1 in yards for both? Not points?

I don’t think it’s possible points wise. Every win would have to be an enormous blowout and every loss would have to be razor thin.

According to NFL.com, the Ravens are still the #1 scoring defense with 17.1 points per game with the Cowboys at #2 with 17.6. Still though, our defense gives us a chance to win any game and we mess it up with crappy offense. Remember, we only held Washington's offense to 13 points but that Dak fumble is what nailed the coffin for us in that game.

That Dak fumble didn't seal the game. Missing the field goal that would have tied the game sealed the game. Not making any attempt to get into the endzone sealed the game.

I love how were concerned about our defense scoring but our tes get a free pass . Theyved scored 1 TD in 7 games playing every snap in these 1-2 te formations. That must be some kind of record in itself. How long can we keep this ignorant streak alive without having credible scoring threats at te . 5+ years and counting w the scrub te core led offense

Ravens after getting cstomped by the Panthers gave up 36 points, and sit at 137 points given up.
Commanders at were 3rd gave up 121, gave up 13(they already had their bye) to be at 134. Seahawks gave up 117, gave up 14 and are at 131.
Having a bye helps. Where are we points per game given up

How often does a team with the #1 scoring defense miss the playoffs?

Just a quick glance at the last 5 seasons (2013-2017) as a sample

Three of the teams with the number one scoring defense won the Superbowl, one lost the Superbowl

1 bowed out in their conference Championship game (Minnesota last year)

Of the last 8 teams with the number one scoring defense only 2 failed to make it beyond the divisional round as far as I can tell

So yeah bottom line if we didn't make the playoffs with the number one scoring defense it would be an epic disgrace

Incredible. All it took was a bye week.

It will be a new record for the hapless Garrett. But lets be honest here...……...offenses don't have to run up the score or take a lot of chances or come out with an aggressive game plan against us because they know our offense sucks.

In all those old Peter Gunn shows, it helps to slip the right person a $20 bill.

Maybe our #1 defense needs to use a little grease.

Dallas is the only team in the NFL to have never given up more than 24Points in a game this season.
