Dak is waiting on WRs to get 5 yards open to throw the ball

No this just isn’t true and if you just took 2 minutes out of your day to actually research your claim you could find that out on your own. According to nextgen stats, Dak is the second most aggressive passer in the league, meaning he throws into tight coverage more than everyone in the league besides Jimmy G. Now if that’s because our receivers get the least separation in the league is another point entirely but he’s definitely not only throwing the ball when they’re 5 yards open which you’re claiming.

This is misleading. This is Dak being late on his throws, not him being aggressive.

I went over a bunch of games yesterday because i was bored and its pretty clear Dak is not pulling the trigger on passes he should. Its the NFL, rarely are WRs ever to be 5+ yards open.

I dont know why its in his head to only pass to people wide open but im 100% positive thats his problem

I've noticed that as well. Seems so obvious, he has to pull the trigger and anticipate when the receiver breaks open.

He probably sees Mahomes, Hoff, Rodgers, etc., throwing to wide open WRs and thinks that’s the way it’s suppose to be!

Someone needs to tell Dak about that old adage in the NFL " if you're even you're leaving " windows are small in the NFL, Dak's waiting for that window to open wider meanwhile of the defensive linemen are coming through the front door. QB's are referred to as triggermen for a reason.... Pull it !

I think you're dead wrong - Dak has no problem threading the needle and does very often into to tight windows with familiar targets
think about it - throwing to Dez and Witten when covered is one thing - Hurns and Baldwin and Thompson and Rico is a bit different

he's missed seeing 2nd and 3rd targets and came off first targets too early at times ... but hardly the disaster many preach

notice his top targets are Beasley, Zeke, Austin, and Swaim - completing better than 70% of targets, but targets to Hurns and Gallup aren't hitting 50% yet, same for Shlutz, Rico, Baldwin. and maybe Thompson too. they are targeting 10 - 11 guys a game ... that's pre-season stuff

Dak will often pass up tight throws to the new faces and throws many passes away , he's very careful with the ball,
this 1.9 INT% is very hard to do with 23 sacks in 7 games and 5 new WRs

I just don't believe 6 or 7 WRs and 4 TEs on the game day roster is the long term plan

focus on Beasley, Gallup, Cooper, Hurns, Swain, and Zeke with equal targets till Austin is back and they'll be more than fine

Hurns ($6M a year), Gallup (R3 pick), Cooper (1 pick + big money) ... they have to get on the same page with Dak

IMO, Gallup and Hurns are close ... and Amari 50/50 to hot the ground running

Was the coverage that tight *before* Dak hesitated to get the ball out?

The problem with nextgen's separation numbers is that they are measured when the ball gets there. Lack of separation can be on the WR for not getting separation or the QB for being slow to get the ball to them when they are.

Running Zeke up the middle on EVERY 1st down with a stacked box is the DUMBEST move ever. We should run RPO on 1st down and insist that Dak keeps the ball..i bet he will learn to throw against a stacked box.

Stack the box against Zeke on 1st and 2nd, play pass defense on 3rd. Beating Linehan is easy peasy.

RPO, Read Option, Fullback dives, even Jet Sweeps are all natural ways to hurt teams from keying on Zeke on 1st and 2nd. We're always run blocking, which is what we do best and keeps them keyed on Zeke compared to play action, and we use our QB on the things he does best.

Last year and this year we've just been wasting a young team that should have been building to be a serious contender in 2019.

Sad.

Ya we basically waste every single 1st down...everyone knows its gonna be a run up the middle

Oh yeah ... Kellen Moore is doing a fine job with Dak .

Isn't great when the players can rely on good coaching ?

We're crying now but we'll be laughing when down by six, with time running out in the Super Bowl, Linehan fools everyone by going play action on first down and Dak misses a wide open Gallup streaking to the endzone.

He threw a high percentage of passes into coverage last season too, again the second highest. He also had one of the lowest intercepable pass rates in the league.
