Irving carted off field

Don't know why Jerry can't learn that trouble just follows some guys....irving is one of them...if has not suspended he's hurt or he's got some other drama going on....guy is a solid player but not consistent.

Just move on from this guy already...its always something....and just wait he will come back have a 2 sack game and then something will happen that will make him unavailable....mark my words

You can have guys like Irvin on your team. That is fine. Heck they may even end up giving value. The problems arise when you hear statements like the following:

Just imagine when Irvin gets back.
Pencil Irvin in as a starter.
No reason not to have Irvin for all 16 games this year.
Adding Irvin gives us a solid rotation.
Now that Irvin is gone we are short handed.
Who will provide an interior rush without Irvin?

I have said it before and I will say it again sorry is the man who relies on David Irvin for anything.

I hear ya but so far he's been a dirt cheap football player. The talent to pay ratio has been in our favor even with the suspension and injuries.

Now with him being an UFA the issue about keeping him on the team becomes a tough one.

My issue isn't with the cost as much as it is the dependability...the team has counted on him and has not spent a ton on the interior dline partly bc of how well he has played in rotation....

I just get sick of players that aren't available and you can put Sean Lee on the list even though I have more tolerance to injuries than boneheaded crap that gets you suspended

FRISCO, Texas – Despite being carted off the field during Thursday’s practice, defensive tackle David Irving might still have a chance to play this week against the Titans.

The team officially placed Irving on the injury report with a sprained ankle. However, team officials sound optimistic that not only does the injury not appear to be a major setback, but Irving could play Monday night at AT&T Stadium.

While the injury is considered to be in the area of a high-ankle sprain, Irving and the Cowboys might have avoided a scare. The team still has full practices Friday and Saturday with a light walk-through on Sunday.

He missed 4 games last year due to a suspension. One game for a concussion isn't always injured and his injury isn't serious and good chance he plays sunday night so yes, your misinformed.
he missed like the last 4 games last year due to injury..i believe it was a concussion..he missed like 8 games, 4 suspension, 4 injury in 2017..

Well, at least you're consistent: you misspelled Irving all seven times.

But the point is right. You can have guys like these, but you can't plan around them. Sean Lee's a great LB when healthy, but if you're going to have Sean Lee, your plan has to include building serious depth at the LB position. And you certainly don't hesitate to draft a great talent there because you have Sean Lee.

High ankle sprains can be anywhere from 4-8 weeks depending on the severity.

9 games left in the season...…………..looks like he is probably done for the year, although he might be back in time for the playoffs;)

good news. I played the second half of a basketball game with a broken ankle, but I'm paying for it now in my old age. Hurts every day, the day I broke it, it didn't hurt that bad.

Dam, I have to give you props for playing on a broken ankle...……….that's hardcore.

You probably caused permanent nerve damage, but that is still impressive;)
