Troy: A complete overhaul of the organization needed

You shut your face HOF QB Troy Aikman.

All we need to do is replace everyone to suit our middling QB's strengths.

Oh, and this is Dez's fault!!!
i don't think dez was ever really the problem. but i know he was never the solution.

HOF QB Troy Aikman this morning on his weekly radio show on Dallas radio station “The Ticket”: “If this team is ever going to turn this around, a complete overhaul of the entire organization is needed. Not just head coach or a few players.”

We’re Finally starting to hear former Cowboys greats stop pretending that the Emperor has clothes. Troy is saying what most fans have been saying for years- there are no players, or even head coaching changes that can make a ship sail that has a huge gash in the hull created by this fool of an owner. A new coat of paint is not going to keep the Titanic from sinking. We hit an iceberg named Jerry years ago.

Note to my fellow fans who have screamed for a new head coach, a new QB, a new OC, a new OL coach, new receivers, etc, etc.: This won’t get better without changing HOW is organization is run. To quote our last SB QB, “a complete overhaul is needed.”

~Duh~

Unfortunately for all Cowboy fans, jeri & spawn are:

Everybody knows Jerry being his own GM — who cannot be fired — has been this organization’s biggest issue since moving forward from Jimmy Johnson.

Until the above reality is altered, nothing will change that might appreciably improve our chances of postseason success and another SB title.

22 seasons and counting, 6 head coaches, 3 wildcard playoff wins...and 1 common denominator: GM Jerry Jones.

Until the foolish Cooper trade I don’t think there’s much I could complain about as far as the personnel decisions. But Jerry & Stephen need to get out of the coaches meetings and obviously they need a new coaching staff and new franchise QB. It would be great if someone were brought in to run football ops who wasn’t a Jones but sadly I don’t think that happens for a long time.

well you can look at jerry's record since jimmy left and it pretty much tell u all you need to know

Put this out there too.. merge :). Love Troy saying it

I will say that Jerry or Stephen not being GM or meddlesome owners will never change. Never. Getting a real HC is a possibility. This roster has talent. I may be crazy but still think the QB can be good under the right scheme / coach. My point is that a complete overhaul is not needed. A great HC and staff with strength to push back on Jerry is.

The formula is the Rams. Look how quickly they turned it around with the right coach.

Jerry Jones doesn't throw INT's.
No.

But what Jerry does well is build stadiums and training complexes to prop up his bottom line.

He is not interested in winning.

Just profits.

The fans can shut up and order more drinks and overpriced food at Jerry World and play on their cellphones.

We are being grossly used as fans.

Time to stop watching folks.

Stop buying tickets.

No more jersey sales.

Cut the Jones' where they live.

At their bank account.

Empty seats speak more than any post asking why.

Jerry Jones does not call plays.
Jerry Jones does not set the gameday roster.
Jerry Jones doesn't run the offense or defense.
Jerry Jones doesn't spin out of imagined pressure and then throw the ball away on 4th down.

Jerry Jones is an indirect cause. He stepped back when Parcells was HC and we didn't win a Super Bowl then.

I don't mind that fans are used - all fans are used. That's the nature of the relationship companies have with consumers. Apple uses the hell out of consumers. In the end, the consumer still has a choice.

I disagree with the comment that Jerry doesn't care about winning, but ultimately he doesn't care enough to admit that he should hire someone else to run the football side of the organization. He has too much ego, and too controlling a nature for that to happen. He needs to think of this similar to his oil and gas operations where he actually hires oil and gas professionals to handle that side of the business. He doesn't try to be an engineer or geologist, he listens to the proposals of the engineers and geologists and then decides whether to invest or not. He's the money guy, but not the one controlling the day to day details of the oil and gas operation.

Jerry Jones has final say on head coach hires and fires.
Jerry Jones has direct input, if not final say, on all other coaching hires and fires.
Jerry Jones has final say on all draft picks.
Jerry Jones has final say on all FA signings.
Jerry Jones has final say on all trades.

Jerry Jones hired Bill Parcells and agreed to give BP autonomy on football matters. BP resigned after realizing Jerry would continue to meddle, highlighted by BP being pressured by JJ into signing Terrell Owens, a player BP did not want.

Since our last SB win (Feb 1996) following the 1995 season, the Cowboys have gone 22 seasons and counting, under 6 head coaches, amassing a fractionally-better-than .500 record, with 3 wildcard playoff wins and no advancement beyond the division-round. We are currently 3-5 and appear likely to miss the postseason for the second consecutive year.

The single common denominator in all of the above is Jerry Jones.

Some things aren’t changing
Many need to change
Realistically the offense needs a new OC with a better scheme. The HC needs to go
The front office is not changing but fixing the offense is realistic and that’s where the biggest failure is
Jerry is not going away, Stephen is no different
What can be fixed is the offense

.

Do you have an actual quote for that or is this just what you are assuming? Resigning that is, not signing TO.

I've been quoting the same thing for over a decade. Nothing's going to change as long as Jerry Jones is in charge. How many HC's, assistant coaches, thousands of players have we churned through over the past 20 years ??? So many changes .... ONE constant.

Just think you get Stephen next...
