Ryan Finley NC State
Clayton Thorson Northwestern
Brett Rypien Boise State

Really the only one with mobility is Thorson
Finley has the best anticipation on throws
Rypien can make all the throws and is great at downfield stuff

I don't think this team is smart enough to move on from Dak but if they actually do who is your vote Lock and Grier are picked in the first so no go with them.

I think we’re good with Dak, we just need an actual offensive mind as a play caller. Especially when we don’t have a 1st and could use that 2nd on other pressing needs.

ANOTHER Boise State quarterback?

Hey, I've got an idea, let's just draft all the Boise State seniors this year! Turn Dallas into Boise State South!

That's the ticket!

Sorry, just couldn't help myself. With the ongoing debacle that is the Dallas Cowboys, satire is all I got left:muttley:

Maybe in the 3rd or 4th I like Brian Lewerke. Love his arm, ability to read defenses and composure. Picking him in 3rd/4th will give us a pick or two to pick a S and Te also.

Look at J Goff...he looked terrible and was a Bustwith J Fischer. ....new coach McVae steps in and hes a Pro Bowler

No, but I gotta root for Brian's

Hopefully in that case lightning DOESN'T strike twice.

Realistically though, if you look at most of the top quarterbacks playing now, other than Brady, how many weren't first round picks?

Goff - 1st
Mariota (since he just beat us) - 1st
Rodgers - 1st
Brees - 2nd (1st pick in the 2nd)
Rothlisbergher - 1st
Mahomes - 1st
Ryan - 1st
Watson - 1st
Rivers - 1st
Luck - 1st

If you're going to "hitch your wagon to a star", then do what you have to do to get a high first round pick, as soon as there's a "sure fire" first round prospect....

I would see if Saints would take a low round draft pick for Taysom Hill. But they seem to really like him, so won't happen. Plus, his age.

Dont need a S ...Earl will be a Cowboy

Just broke his leg, 30 yo, and even if we do have him am I confident in our current two safeties to man the other position. No. Why just be satisfied with one good safety. And our entire secondary is young why not have a young guy learn next to Earl?

Pretty much. Brady is the exception to the rule, but leave it to JJ to count on finding a gem in the late rounds/UDFA pool.

You’re not going to find a sure fire replacement at QB even at #33. Better to let Dak finish his contract under a new coordinator and continue to load the roster to help him and see what comes of it before completely burning down the barn. 2020 is the earliest they start to really look at new QBs imo.

You can snag a nice TE or another WR at the top of the second, or look for an eventual replacement for Tyron Smith or find a guy to take over at C. I’d think S would be a big possibility here as well.

Plus the 2019 QB class isn’t that inspiring in the first place. Even Will Grier doesn’t move the needle much for me and Lock has taken a step back this season.

Wait and see if the young QBs from the SEC (Fromm/Tua) come out after their junior seasons and then we can talk.
