Well I'm at least going to give Richard a small pass he's been coaching this team for 1/2 a season and the offense did not do this defense any favors last night and we knew there would be some growing pains with this defense but if you think that offense didn't put them in bad situations last night you want to rethink that, at least so far minus last game and maybe one other he's had them playing very well for young guys

Before you jump to conclusion
Then you need to pay attention to football before you make yourself look st***d

His team is always in contention
They play hard and tough
Never an easy out
He's won a SB and was in position to win a second
His coordinators have left over the years but his success continues

After Bellichick he's in that second tier of HCs that include Carroll, Reid, Payton
Nice to see women in here posting as well! If you aren't a woman you sure jump to conclusions like one and sure riled up like one. I been following Pete Carroll since right before his USC days since Im a USC fan. However thank you for your time and wisdom and especially thank you for taking time to rank and list coaches. Great job!

I guess what I'm saying is I'm not ready to lay it all on the defense right now although they have their issues at least they've improved

The lesson here is that you need to be perfect, 100%, every single game in order to keep some fans satisfied.

The DBs didn't have their best game last night, but that's no reason to jump all over Richard. This entire unit has improved under his coaching and it would be premature and foolish to give up on him after one game...

Take a look at those teams they played and 28 is going to look manageable with some left on the schedule.

Hey Coach, the one thing that I see is signs of a very different defense that we haven’t had her in a long time. Actually aggressive at times and pretty fun to watch at times. However I do see the same playing off receivers and failure to handle 3rd and long plays.

Btw, I’m thinking about getting a D coach here at the house as I get older. Inspirational post for sure

I haven't gotten this from the beginning. Some act as if the Cowboys had really scored in hiring a D coach that wasn't wanted by his old team that was going through a secondary rebuild and that team has a D coach as the HC. Think he might know D coaches? Ever ask yourself why he didn't want to keep him?

So now, I see some think they have the next DC on board. Would that be the same one that's calling the D and gave up 28 at home to the 30th ranked O in the league?

Doesn't it make you think about it that SEA didn't want to keep him? Before we consider that part of the team puzzle solved, let's see how his D performs against the really good offenses left on the schedule.

Don't consider stats without considering opposition first. Check those stats at the end of 16 instead of the halfway point.

And before anyone excuses him because of injuries, that's when the real coaches step up and if you paid attention when he was in SEA, when he lost one of those pbers for a game, they didn't hold up well.
That's a great Point coach but just remember Seattle had just a little bit more Talent than what the Cowboys defense has now, I'm not saying he shouldn't be on the hook for last night but he's improved this secondary immensely from last year plus I do realize some of these players have another year under their belt to that has a lot to do with it

..maybe this coach is good, but has no talent players to his name? Maybe these players are just above avg Joe's? Maybe he is putting duck tape in there to make it work? .... Not one is a Sherman type.

.....and then maybe RIchards blows... ;)

You guys can be a little irrational sometimes. Richard has made a huge impact on this team.

You do realize we've given up 28 points only once this season right? And that, at this point in the season last season, we gave up that amount like 6 times?
You do realize we just got schooled by the 3rd worse offense in the league, right?

I’m sure you also realize we haven’t played an offense that is ranked higher than 13th overall, right?

Statistically speaking, you probably also know the best passing team we’ve played are the Giants who are somehow ranked 9th (assuming garbage yards in the 4th when they are behind) and after that the best passing team we’ve played is Houston, ranked 19th.

Chew on that for awhile. We’ve basically played one team outside of the 12 worst passing teams in the league and have played two teams that barely make the top half of the league for overall offense.

And some of you want to promote Richard already? Lol, do you guys share the same brain waves as Jerry? Talk about over reacting...

The defense is still not this teams biggest problem or even top 5. The entire team spent 2 weeks not preparing for this game. The coach is too busy in LA.

LOL where's your proof the team didn't prepare for 2 weeks you saw JG in La for one day. I swear you people sometimes make up the foolish things

It's going to be funny when this place has no way of defending this screamer when we face Wentz twice, Brees, and Ryan.

We have arguably the best CB in the NFL who otherwise would still be playing out of position at safety.
Lee can't run full speed without blowing out yet another hammy.
He's not the defensive coordinator!

We got too aggressive and they beat us like we beat the jags. Sucked our defenders in and quick screen to a rb who gets monster yards. Richards isn't fixing our terrible pass protection either. Awuzie looks terrible. 3rd and long was no problem for the titans offense, we made them look great.

Not sure it matters.

When Garrett is fired along with his staff..

Richards will be sprinting to get out of Dallas.

Marinelli goes, too.

Linehan will coach a peewee team but be unable to call the plays.

Let this sink in. 11 for 14 on 3rd downs, 30th ranked offense, 28 points at home and 2 weeks to prepare. On a team in need of getting to .500 to even have a chance.

I am not dumping on Richard, just don't get why some seem to think he's the answer.

I still feel he is the only asset on the coaching staff worth keeping. Who knows before the season is out he might even get an interim head coach title?

CB, that's my concern with Richard from the get go. You and I could have coached that secondary with 3 out of 4 All Pro's and a damned good front 7 but when the team begins to dissipate, does the most D minded HC in the NFL keep Richard to help teach and coach the new players?

What I think is that Carroll saw a more talent dependent coach than he would need moving forward.

And here's the real problem. Since when has this brain trust put a good coaching staff together? Any coach they would hire would be suspect to me. That's probably wrong and not fair to Richard, but history tells me these morons don't know great coaching or even want it. Can't have a strong coach upstaging the star of the show.

All I am assaying is the jury hasn't even left the court room on him yet. Let's see how he handles really good offenses.

Don't think Booger will fire Garrett during the season, he's still family and that sends a strong message. I think they would be more prone to fire Linehan and have Garrett stop being a "walk around HC" and start being a "stand around HC with something to do other than chew gum like an old woman". Gawad, I hate watching that tool. When a fan prefers to listen to Booger wax poetic with the media to Garrett's "cliches I learned off the back of the Wheaties box", this has gone too far.
