Hello... new member here. Great sense of humor, which I've needed as I have been following the Boys for 41 years. I'm tired though. I sat last week thinking this all seems so familiar... like we're heading back to the late '80's. I never miss a game when I can find it in my area (Midwest), but after last week's debacle seriously contemplated calling it done for the season. I am a cancer survivor, lost my fiancee to complications from diabetes, and work in a high stress law office. I look to these games to give me a lift, but they've been such downers. Trying to hang on for the season, but grasping for reasons to do just that. Surely I'm not alone in this...(?)

You're not alone by any stretch, in fact no Cowboys fan is alone , so long as this forum exists!!

Welcome to your home away from home!

If you're looking for fellow commiserates, I recommend the Fan Zone or Drama Zone, but if you're looking for those who also have a sense of humor, the Off Topic Zone should be your destination.

Thank you for the info. I will check those out as well.

Alone? Hardly, but choosing to express how you feel in this forum or the Off-Topic one is better than gen pop because that is not accepted well out there. The problem is that sends the message that the poster is somehow more disappointed by this season and team than others.

Gramma, looks like you've had some rough times but that sense of humor has been your ship to travel rough water and I cannot say enough about that because that was mine as well. I stopped depending on the Cowboys, and football in general, to be my break.

Runny, one of the humorists here, is right, spend some time with us in this zone and the Off-Topic as there are many like us, looking for our break through laughter and there are some really funny characters there.

Something else you will notice, we share our bad times as well. We've had friends with loss like you've expressed and divorce and challenges with trust that they feel comfortable sharing. We are all disappointed in this season and the way this team is run in such an autocratic style but we make up for that by spending time with each other.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy this addiction as much as some of us do because it's not a good day if I haven't seen my friends here. This forum is more important than football or a team, we are more important than the team. This isn't just a football forum; it is a friends forum. Some great people here, get to know them.

Well, thank you all for being so welcoming. You can imagine living in the Midwest there's a lot of pressure to pull for the Chicago team or Green Bay. Uhh... no thank you. I started watching/following this team when the classiest of classy coaches was on board (Mr. Landry, thank you very much), and it didn't matter that they were or weren't the best any given week, but that regardless they were respectable. Now there's just a bunch of thugs in the league.
