How are we playing Atlanta again?

Exactly why the Egals have the Rams, in L.A.
They think they lost players for the season now. Wait till the Rams get done with them.

Wentz

:lmao:

Wentz drags his *** over the carpet?

Back to back is alright but I hate how we have to travel to Atlanta back to back years (why can't they split it ?)

We've played Seattle back to back but at least we split home field advantage (home 2017 away 2018)

I've always questioned the home-home thing. It happened with our Green Bay games for several years I believe.

don't worry, I am sure that Goodell is trying to find some loophole to screw Dallas over even though that is virtually impossible....he and Mara are have a feety-pajama sleep-over party this weekend to talk about it over some hot cocoa with marshmallows

I'm just wondering how that schedule works because we played them last year?

Each NFL Division plays a round-robin against 1 other NFC and AFC division each year. The NFC East plays the NFC and AFC South this year (coincidence they're both the South). The other 2 games (after the aforementioned 8 plus the 6 intra-division) are against the team that finished the same place in the other 2 NFC divisions. Dallas was 2nd in the NFCE last year so we play the 2nd place team last year in the NFC North (Detroit) and NFC West (Seattle). We played Atlanta last year because we were both 1st place teams in 2016.

The Cowboys next year will play the AFC East, NFC North and the teams from the NFC South and West that finish in the same spot we do this year. So, we might play Atlanta again next year if we finish in the same spot as they do. Same with Seattle.

Also, 2 teams in each division are "tied at the hip", meaning they play the same cycle.

In the NFC East, it is Dallas/NY & Philly/Wash. In the South it is Atl/Car & NO/TB. Thus this year Dallas & NY play in ATL & Car, While Philly & Was host them. In three years, it will be the opposite (or inverse).

The whole NFL schedule is a scam. Teams in each division play different schedules. You reward bad teams every year by making them play other bad teams in addition to giving them top picks

they can do what they want. Goodell has proven that time and again.

As bad as I despise Jerry..I cant stand Arthur Blank. He is a turncoat owner...I have my reasons and will leave it at that.

Schedules are set up already. The only thing that changes is the same-place finishers.

6 games vs NFC East opponents

4 games vs rotating AFC divisions (so we play every four years)

4 games vs rotating NFC divisions (every 3 years)

Last 2 games are same-place finishers in the other two NFC divisions.

In 2019, we already know that we will play:
NY Giants
at NY Giants
Washington
at Washington
Philadelphia
at Philadelphia

Buffalo
Miami
at NY Jets
at New England

Green Bay
Minnesota
at Chicago
at Detroit

vs NFC West same place finisher (currently the Seahawks)
vs NFC South same place finisher (currently the Panthers)
This.

So, if we some how end up finishing in the same position as Atlanta, we would actually play them yet again next year.
Right now it's the Panthers though.

Last year we played them because we ended in the same place in our division to end 2016. The NFC South was the division we played the team who finished the same place as us. This year we play them because it’s the year we play the entire NFC South.

I don't like the formula we should have had them at home. The schedule is so messed up, just like when we play the Packers it seems it's always at Lambeau.

You don't like the formula because you don't understand it imo.

Plus your same ranked opponent is also on a fixed schedule. The years it seemed they played the Packers in GB "every year" was because they kept finishing the same rank as the Packers and the NFC North same ranked opponent for the NFC East is on a 2 home/ 2 away schedule. (In between every 3 years when the NFC East plays the entire NFC North.

Same ranked opponent for Cowboys & Giants ("XXX" they play the whole division that year): 2019/2020/2021/2022/2023/2024

NFC North: XXX-AWAY-AWAY-XXX-HOME-HOME
NFC South: AWAY-HOME-XXX-HOME-AWAY-XXX
NFC West: HOME-XXX-HOME-AWAY-XXX-AWAY

Every team has one division that is on a AWAY-AWAY-HOME-HOME, one that is AWAY-HOME...HOME-AWAY and one that is HOME-AWAY...AWAY-HOME. That's the only way to keep the schedule perfectly balanced and your 2 games against the same ranked opponent are always 1 @ home and 1 away.

Then you alternate home and away every 3 years when you play the entire division (the "XXX" years). So if every team in the NFC finished the same rank in their division for 6 consecutive years, the Cowboys would play every NFC team (non-NFCE) exactly 3 times away and 3 times at home.

The Eagles & Commanders are on an opposite schedule that mirrors this.

Thanks for this clearly spelled out. They went to this formula so that all the teams would play at every site at least every 8 years.

Maybe the schedule maker is like a Commanders fan or something.
