Typically when a team's starting QB is not starting I like the Cowboys chances a bit more. With that said I am admittedly a little nervous about this game and the problems Colt will cause our defense.

My biggest concern is the lack of recent tape on Colt. I think the lack of recent tape on Foles was the biggest reason they won a Superbowl. In regards to Colt we have no idea what his strengths and weaknesses are right now. That could be an issue for Kris and Rod. Colt is one of the best back up QBs in the NFL. If we just sit back in Zone in the first half with the idea of making adjustments at halftime could put us in a hole.

I love our defense and our defensive coaches but how can you scheme for a QB with limited recent tape?

Recent tape? Colt Mccoy is what he is. A decent backup QB. I would actually love to have him as a backup here in Dallas. But how good he is today wont be any different than his stints before. I like Colt mccoy but he is not Alex Smith. I would much rather play against Mccoy than Smith. If Mccoy gives our defense trouble Alex Smith would have given much more trouble.

I've just read that when he was drafted he said 'I can't wait to be a Cleveland Brown, we're gonna win a lot of games'. Oops.

We have plenty of tape from back when he used to kill our Cowboys not too long ago. This will not be an easy win but I like our chances.

Aggression is the key. If you let him stand in a clean pocket, he has weapons. Reed, Davis, Doctson, Harris, Quinn and Peterson.

I don’t think they will win many games with him. But I still see him winning two-three games. He moved the offense once Smith went out.

Huge difference between Smith and McCoy, is Smith would kill us with his feet and brain. No easy picks and turnovers. McCoy is more prone to toss a pick or take off running.

Foles is not Wentz. Most of the league had played Foles before but that did not help them in playoffs to include one of the best defensive minds in the Superbowl. I too would love Colt as a back up and understand that he is a career back up. With that said I can see him pulling a Foles or a Fitz against us then slowing down as teams get more tape on him.

We have nothing recent on Colt and IMO that is advantage Commanders. Colt is a gamer as well.

We did not have a good defense when we sen him last.
We have one now.

I don't think the Washington game plan will change all that much. Colt is basically an Alex Smith (though not as good of course) other than he will take chances to throw down the field more. But I would not sit back and think, oh, we got this. Which we know Rod will not allow his defense to do.
So we should have more opportunities for turnovers. Especially if we get pressure on him. But I think they run the ball, make us stop the run first. Which is why they may come out throwing. LOL.

Thing is. Smith is out, so how much can they tailor to colt in 3 days to change it up to what he does best.
They will have basically last night and today to get a game plan together, one day to practice, then a travel day. So 2 days.

We have last night, then 3 days to prepare.

You really think the Commanders are better this game having Colt McCoy than Alex Smith? That's blasphemy

We didn't have the defense we have now the last time we faced the fearsome Colt McCoy. Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

Didn't he beat them last year?

I think they know who he is.

Our defense is lightyears better than 2017.

Relax.

They got this.

I wouldn't be too concerned. He's a back up for a reason. We just need to play to our strengths.

Jay Schroeder was a backup for a reason and because Thiesman was a fan favorite but not the actual best QB on the team at the time.

Washington remains in first place in the NFC East, but four days from now, it faces a challenge to its throne. If Washington loses to Dallas on Thanksgiving Day, both teams will sit 6-5 with the Cowboys on a three-game winning streak and Washington on a two-game losing streak and losers of three of four.

Washington’s division hopes rest on the right arm of backup quarterback Colt McCoy after Alex Smith broke his right fibula and tibia against Houston on Sunday.

Colt could start for other teams he chose to be backup for whatever reason but there are at least 10 teams that could have used Colts services.. you should always fear this kind of backup..Hes a gamer , hes spoiled us before..good thing is after beating Wentz and Ryan , they wont be surprised by McCoy..id say his skillset is a lot like Smith anyway..
