LVE. Best play I've seen from a LBer in long time

If I'm LVE, i'd call Kalil Mack and try to train with him this off season to learn few more things and pick his approach

Big test this Thursday. LVE full time against AD. Commanders defense is no joke either and was able to contain the Cowboys running game pretty good. Washington is going to look to run the ball in Dallas. Cant wait to see how LVE takes on Peterson.

I think people forget that this is the type of thing that Sean Lee has been doing, routinely, for a decade.

There's no doubt about Lee's influence on this kid, but he deserves a ton of credit for translating what he's learned onto the field.

Oddly enough one of the main criticisms of him in the draft by scouts and members here was that he could not shed blocks.

That play seems to indicate he is turning the corner lol.

I remember reading that too, and he has consistently shown otherwise.

Don't want to discredit the great performance he's had all year, but one thing I've noticed with him and this defense is it seems they all start missing easy tackles late in the game. Hard to be at ease in crunch time in a close scoring game when I see this too often.

I've noticed that. But when LVE misses a tackle it's certainly not due to a lack of effort. The guy makes way more open tackles than I would expect from a normal LB. As a past skilled player myself I would pride myself in leaving LBs in the dust. Skilled players have a job too, and that job is to avoid tackles and they are very good at doing that. LVE makes more than his share and under duress.

I remember reading on here via a poster or article, that Boise State had their LBs attack blockers a certain way. Maybe it's a mix of better coaching, learning from Lee and development overall.

Why shed a block when you can just tackle everybody?

On a post game interview last night, local CBS channel. They asked LVE about how the Falcons went to the running game in the 2nd half to try to get the offense going.
LVE said it was something the coaches told them to look out for. Be are they will try to run the ball.
Said it is something that Atlanta has shown to do.

So the coaches actually had them prepared as to a game plan and what to watch. Now he did not elaborate if it was part of the game plan before, or is it was a half time reminder. Not really an adjustment, but the coaches had them prepared for it.

I did.

This summer.

Haven't bought a jersey since Emmitt......
I buy chinese knockoffs as I am not spending that kind of money. So far of our current players I have Tyrone Crawford, Zeke, Dak NFL and college and just ordered an LVE jersey.
