Hypothetically speaking, if you can replace either Garrett or Dak in 2019, who would you choose? Both is not an option in this situation.

Without knowing who you replace him with hard to say
If mahommes was an option I’d say Dak
But he’s not

Let's say a draft pick as far as Dak is concerned and anyone that's not available as far as Garrett is concerned (i.e. belicheck, Reid, shannahan, McVey, etc.)

In that case Jason
Don’t care for QB class this year
Need to trade JG to the raiders for a next year first and get Mr Alabama in here

The Cowboys don't have a 1st for 2019.

No draft picks required to upgrade Garrett and Linehan.

I tend to agree with you guys about replacing Garret, but at the same time I sure would like to see this offense with a new QB under center. Dak's turnovers and him holding onto the ball so long is going to kill us. Also, the money to extend him (for an average, if not subpar QB) is going to prevent us from addressing other needs. If our focus on offense is the running game, I think I'd rather draft a bus driver in the 2nd and not invest $20mil+/yr on Dak. Then again, my hatred for Garret is STRONG....

Tough one.

Garrett, it is a no-brainer. Dak has more potential under competent coaching and a better system that caters to his game.

It's an easy call. I agree with those saying it's a no brainer and bye bye Garrett. While he might or might not turn out to be a decent HC, the new HC would certainly fire Linehan, thus improving the offense tremendously.

I think linehan is gone regardless.

This is the type of thread I would have expected to see if we had lost to the saints....
