Dallas v Philly 2

Everything has led up to this. We have played well enough to put ourselves into contention for the playoffs— but this is the game we have to have.

We are at home, rested, healthier, and on a big win streak. Philly is desperate, proud, and doing anything they can to get back into the fight.

The Philly offense is really built around two things: Zach Ertz and an excellent screen game.

They sprinkle in some throws to Tate and use Jefferey as a possession WR and red zone threat— but their bread and butter is Ertz and screens.

Ertz killed us last game. Can we stop him? Can we get consistent pressure on Wentz? The Philly offense is not NO— but they are dangerous when they are clicking. We must match their intensity for 60 mins and continue covering and tackling the way we have been to win this one.

Looking at their defense...Their front 7 is really good. We are giving up a bunch of sacks. Their weakness is their secondary— but if they bring heavy pressure— will Dak get rid of the ball fast enough to hurt them?

Can we get enough push to give Zeke consistent space to operate? They will be very aggressive— and we have to have great playcalling in order to use that aggressiveness against them.

A contender wins this game. Somehow, some way— we must find the will to win this one and end the Eagles season.

Their tears will be so sweet
We need to get T. Austin involved

I have more faith in this team now that we have a legit D. Good D's travel well, plus our best coaching them...

The pressure is still on the egals. They don't want to be a defending SB champ who doesn't make the playoffs. I think we win by 10. Is Smith going to be back...we need him healthy.
Yeah I think we need him back too, keep the sacks on the left side down. Plus could use Austin now also, give them a good show.
Anyone try and pull that "dallas Star" crap gets knocked the !@#$ out.

this is a division game and as usual its going to be a battle. we have a one game lead, so even if we lose things aren't lost.... they have two tough games against rams and Houston and finish with Washington. so its conceivable they go 2-2. if If we go 3-1, meaning that we would have to win out the last 3, then no problem...if we go 2-2, in the last 4 games, we get the division. but if we go 1-3, it would leave us in a tie with them. they would then be 5-1 in the division and we would be 4-2 and they take the division.

They moved the ball on a pretty good Wash defense with a good mix of runs and short/medium quick-hit passes.

Figuring our D-line will provide more QB pressure, while our LBs should slow their running attack. Good safety play is gonna be important.

Meanwhile, Linehan, Dak & Co better be firing on all cylinders.

Go Cowboys!

Cowboys 31
Eagles 17
Division is ours for the taking

Sports talk shows today are idiotic and ridiculous , laughably praising Philthy........................Talk is about them "playing their best ball right now" ; they barely managed to get by a bad and schizophrenic NY team and they just won against a walking wounded Washington team on its 3rd QB................

I hope our Boys kick the crap out of them.............................

division games are always tough and close. I remember during campo era, we sucked, but we beat the skins twice a year and they were playoff team. this will be a blood bath on Sunday. they have some injuries in the secondary and have they been able to Jell a little. its weakness against weakness. they have a stout front 7, specially on the DL, so getting our running game going again, like last game is key and I am sure they are thinking the same. can Safties, Smith and LVE neutralize Ertz enough? their running game is hurting as they have lost their top 2 RBs and have a bunch of gadget RBs right now. its going to be another game going into the 4th quarter.

Philly’s O line sucks and they are still very banged up, I truly think we win by more points than game 1. Even if we lose, their schedule is worse than ours and I’m confident we would win mkre games than them.

Not worried about the results of this game in the slightest. Worst case scenario, they beat us (won’t happen) and then we have to beat the 6-6 Colts, Bucs and/or Giants. The Eagles have the Rams, Texans and Commanders.

I like our chances much more if they pull off some sort of miracle and beat us.

Totally disagree with this take.

Eagles corners are trash. Cooper and company should have a big game.

We also need to contain Tate, he is probably hoping for a much better game than his first.
I agree, this will be a battle but in the end (4th) they won't be able to handle Dak, Zeke and Coop

You want me to believe Jason Garrett is a really good coach?

Then these are the games he has to win. Home game, long rest, Eagles a bit hobbled on defense, division/playoffs on the line, etc.

There's no excuse for not coming out and beating this Eagles team Sunday. What I don't want to see is if we lose, the homers all coming out and saying it's no big deal, we will still win the division because the Eagles have the Rams and Texans left, blah, blah, blah.

We control our destiny. I don't want to be in a situation where we then need help to win the division.
Even if we lose on Sunday, we still control our own destiny

Ertz did kill us but the iggles still lost. I'm okay with letting one guy go wild as long as we shut down the rest.

But, worry wart me, I'm very concerned about this game:

1. Eagles are desperate, desperate teams play all out, as someone mentioned, Dallas better be ready, I'm afraid Garrett's "steadiness" will hold the team's emotions down.
2. Dallas didn't really pull away from the Eagles in the last game until that DB Douglas went out with an injury, he played last night, so can't count on him being out.
3. Dallas offense is still struggling, encouraged by Dak's 24 of 28 game, his accuracy has been questioned, was the last game an aberration?
4. Beat the Eagles and with the Eagles' having to play the Rams and Texans after that, should put them away, but since when has Dallas had the killer instinct? They usually let teams back in it late in games.
5. Beasley injured, his stats aren't great but he is someone defenses have to be aware of, without Austin being back, there's really nobody to take Beasley's spot.

On a positive note, Eagles traveling after a Monday night game, teams that do that lose more often than not, if I'm remembering correctly an article I read a couple of years ago. Dallas has a young team, they probably are very excited about the 4 game winning streak, should have the enthusiasm level high. Weather not a factor, of course that applies to both teams, just won't have to worry about wet footballs or numb fingers causing fumbles. Irving and T. Smith may be back. Beasley may be back.

All in all I expect a win, but it'll be close...

Same scenario as the Titans game and we know what happened then.

Hopefully they learned from that experience...

Can we get enough push to give Zeke consistent space to operate
Amight I take us ALL back the year is 1993, Emmitt Smith RAN for over 237 yards on 30 rushes...against the egirls.
WE need THAT kind of game out of Zeke. I'm again calling this game here, we WIN, Zeke goes over 200 on the ground and catches a pass for a TD totaling 3 TD's for the day. Coop and Gallo both score and we win easily 37-10... remember this post

Would love for Zeke's homer-less streak to end against Philly.

Keep Lewis on Ertz, The Cowboys used Lewis to phase Kamara out of the Saints passing game, give him a shot at Ertz.

This team isn't like past teams. Our defense inspires faith.
I agree, they are keeping us in it.
The offense needs to be more consistent, the play calls need to be consistent. They know what works but sometimes move from it.
