Resting players after the NFC title is secured?

All teams are beat up right now.

The biggest question is the OL.

Can we rebuild it in time for the playoffs?

We have about 4 weeks to know.

Are we willing to accept a couple of losses to rest the OL?

Not sure we can afford to go into the playoffs on a losing streak.?

I think not.

What happens if we go 11-5?

How does that change things?

Do we get a bye in the first playoff game if we go 11-5?

I say yes we do.

Is it worth it?

We rested players against the Packers 2 years ago and cratered in the playoffs.

What now?

Only sit those who need it, the rest play. Even in the last game, got to play at least a half.

I think we play the next two games straight up and try to win them. If we have everything wrapped up after next week, with either a win or a philly loss, I would sit certain players, like Smith for sure the last two games. I would also limit Zeke to 10-15 touches a game. The last game of the year, I play much like the 3rd Preseason game, starters play the first half, and maybe come out for one drive in the 3rd. After that, sit them down and let them rest. The biggest needs are to get Smith a healthy as possible and Martin too. Get Zeke and DLAW rested for the playoffs. Other than that, I play all starters until the half of the last game.

only rest if you want to ensure a one and done playoff run

resting Tyron and Martin ...sure

Reducing Zeke's load ...sure

Dak and his WRs need as much time together as possible. Maybe sit them in 4th quarter if the game is out of hand but they should be playing.

You only rest the ones that really need it.

This. And I would bring up another RB and only give Zeke between 15-20 touches a game the next 3 games.

Enough for him to stay in rhythm and help— but also reduce the toll on his body so he is ready for January

We will always have something to play for from here-on-out.

Resting players didn’t work for us in 2007 and 2016. Play em.

We also relied more on an explosive offense and less on the defense then. Offense seems to come out pretty flat on a good day. So I'm not necessarily saying I disagree with you, I'm just saying that should be mentioned when making this decision. But personally I'm all for riding the momentum and we're winning games let's keep winning games.

I think we got to play them, every win is beneficial for seeding. I wouldn't want to go into the playoffs off of a l loss or after resting guys.
Keep the winning momentum, we might slow them down if we sit them.

Having 3 weeks is huge because you can rest guys (Tyron/Martin) who are injured now and let them get a tune up in week 17 for like a half.
But you can't stop trying to win by powering down.
I'd be looking to add a piece like a proven vet RB here late. Give Zeke more rest for sure.

Rest only those who need it. This is a young team and they need to play.

Might sit them after the first half of the last game, but that's about it.

Spend the next 3 weeks coming up with as many "can't miss" red zone plays as possible, and working on them in practice. Stay as vanilla as possible in the red zone during the three games.
