What is he supposed to do?

Our scheme just tells our players to execute better./QUOTE]

This is such a tired cliche. It also happens to not be true. We routinely see wrs schemed open. Dak usually misses them.

We literally last week got two players wide open with a yard to gain for a touchdown within seconds of the snap. The QB and FB didn't execute. But they were schemed WIDE OPEN.

Saying we ask players to "just execute better" is the thing people say to sound smart but reveals the shallowness of their position/knowledge.

Not that hard to say "Josh, wait for your defender to get picked and then run a Go route".

Joking. Kinda.
lol.

The Pats offense is, from my understanding, alllll about sight adjustments. That's a lot harder to learn than what Dallas does.

It can be both...

This entire scheme is built around WRs winning against man coverage. So the coaching adjustment, literally, is to just be better.

Yeah, and on top of that Gordon has crazy physical talent. Its like the Calloway kid for the Browns, you know he can make plays but the question is whether he will self destruct - or when it will happen.

If there's a WR coach available that's better than Lal then do it.
If you can upgrade then do it

Imo the Cowboys should dump this clown. Aside from alot of chatter and hype in TC, our WR's have not benefitted from him, Beasley has gotten worse, and Cooper basically brought along his suitcase full of "do it yourself" route running skills along from Oakland.

He should be added to the list along with Garrett, linehan, and Kellen Moore of who needs to go.
why all the ODD threads lately where its blame game ion guys like Zeke and now a coach in LAL? what part of left field did you pull this from? all season ive seen wide open guys not being even acknowledged or they are throw bad throws..

some is Dak, some is the makeshift line making Dak skittish but the WR and TEs have been open more then not and they arent getting the ball thrown to them or its thrown poorly..we have issues but its not Zeke and not sure how Lal can even be looked at this point..

Now JG, Moore, and SL are on the very hot seat, stay tuned :) theres obvious red zone play calling issues and Daks having issues that SL and Moore arent getting fixed..why is Dak just not run at all when we needed spark?> what are they protecting and if they are protecting Dak why was he in at all past the 3rd quarter last week? I blame some offensive coaches for sure..

Our WR's are running like 3 routes. When the season is over we will bring in another OC and we will be complaining about something else.

You know.

Jerrah thinks DAK has that *It Factor"..

Romo could do it but he was sort of unique with that sort of stuff.

Like Jerrah says..

Garrett needs playoff experience..

DAK needs it too.

Not sure it's going to happen.

I honestly don't understand how anyone who read my post and understood could then write this.

I really don't know.

It’s the playcalling and limited playbook..
Through out the season, we've seen A LOT of plays where WRs/TEs/RBs are getting open but the ball doesn't get to them for some reason or another

DURRRRR

The point is that sometimes the coaching adjustment of "be better" works, and sometimes it doesn't. A handful of plays where they did scheme guys open doesn't mean that the playcalling or scheme in general are good.

The issue is both.

Our scheme just tells our players to execute better.

Amari Cooper can run the best routes in the world but at some point when do we shift blame to opposing defenders knowing our play based on their coverage.

On the game winning play against Philadelphia Cooper faked running by the defender and the defender didn't even bite on it. He set exactly where the film told him Cooper would go and that was the slant and sure enough he jumped the route and tipped it in the air and luckily Cooper snagged it and scored.

Dallas has an offensive tendency problem. Blaming the position coaches needs to stop.

I totally agree. Great post.

No. You guys need to settle down.

This forum so easily becomes a puddle of nonsense. Sheer drivel.

Cooper is playing 10x better than in Oakland. Gallup is developing nicely and would have super nice numbers had Dak more accurately put the ball on him when he's run free. Beez has talked about how much he's learned from Coach Lal.

Lal deserves serious props, not this.

What part of our offensive scheme can't be boiled down to "be better" don't you understand?

Yeah, I don’t think he’s a problem. Just my opinion.

What?

At times they scheme guys open. Those are anomalies, but players haven't executed.

They also depend on a scheme in which they just ask guys to play better.

I'm not sure what your confusion is.
