Newsflash: defenses are good. If they decide to stack the box and stop you from running, then you ain’t running. That’s what the they keep saying yet folks still want to force the run.

We ranked 5th and 7th in the red zone the last two years.
The OL has slipped some due to age & injury, and despite their limitations at the end of their careers Dez & Witten were among the best RZ at their position in the league. They weren’t great between the 20s, but their big bodies and savvy allowed them to do well around the goal line.

I know there are a lot of issues but the fact that the OC can't find ANYTHING that might work is pretty damning. Had he been fired a long with the OL coach we might really have had a chance to do something. I am not a Garrett fan but Linnehan is the OC. He deserves 100% of the blame for the red zone mess....the OC is supposed to find solutions no matter the personnel or situation. He has been terrible. It's basically his primary job.

Is a .6 yard gain/play average not good?
Yes!,,,er,,,as compared to a .4 yard per gain/play ,all those other loser clods in the league are generating in the red zone,,,o_O,,,as the thought of being Elite is a dehibilitating frame of mind mental roadblock:facepalm:

They make it harder because they have actually fallen into the pattern of doing what is clever. They coach scared and don't have faith in their best talent.

"Let's call the stupidest play imaginable! That'll fool em! Genius, baby!"

Both.

He's just worse throwing in a crowded field.

But his ability to run is a huge asset in the red zone that we don't make use of.

first one, then it limits the second one. you notice we didn't have issues with ROmo

oh no I didn't say that...here come Dak lovers with a stat book

Thanks guys! I thought that was the case. I hope he can get better. It's just so frustrating since he put in a lot of effort over the off season to get better but the results are mixed at best. The worse part is that he feels he has gotten better but again I go back to the results and if that is really true. o_O

The OL is not blocking well... and Linehan is failing to adjust and create alternative ways to score.

Beasley should have all kinds of looks down there... where are the RPOs? Where is Rico? How about a slant or two as opposed the obvious back shoulder fade that he loves to go to?

Pick plays? TE leak outs into the flat after selling a run block?

There are so many things I see other teams do week in and week out to keep things fresh and get points on the board.

It’s not Linehan’s fault his guys got hurt— but it is his fault for being stubborn and refusing to get creative with the options and talent he does have.

This alone should get Linehan fired.

I don't think I can recall any team ever having the NFL's leading rusher yet ignoring him to be clever with goal to go like this idiotic staff does.

This game is not nearly as complex as they make it out to be.

They make it harder because they have actually fallen into the pattern of doing what is clever. They coach scared and don't have faith in their best talent.

If you want to play Bully Ball, you don't go all finesse with a score on the line.
I can’t stand Linehan, but it’s not as simple as just running the ball and playing smash mouth, especially when your line is far from dominant.
