Prescott and Zeke lead in fumbles at their positions

So if we have a fumbless playoff you think we win 2?

I think the fewer turnovers you have in the playoffs the better chance you have at winning - goes for any game really.

I just don’t expect us to fix this problem. It will be something they work with Prescott and Zeke in the offseason.

Blaming Zeke for not scoring TDs reminds me of people blaming Julio for not scoring TDs. I heard people say Julio was overrated because he had 0 TDs through 7 games. Fast forward to the back half of the year and he's got 7 in his last 8.

Basically, for any position, touchdowns are a high-variance stat. 4 TDs out of 300 rushes is a bad season. 12 TDs on 300 rushes is a great season. It's such a minuscule amount of a feature back's touches either way that it can float around quite a bit.

What matters more is usage and opportunity. As long as the player's offense is getting to the red zone, and he's getting carries or targets in said red zone, the scoring will come eventually. The ball will bounce the other way. The odds will get even. Zoning in on the TD stat for a player who's already proven to be an elite short yardage back is just myopic.

He’s a top 5 pick. Barkley is taking a TD to the house every other week.

No excuses, if he’s our “MVP”, he needs to score. End of story.

I cant believe you seriously have. a problem with Zeke out of all people

I have a problem with the RB position in general. I have made this clear a few times.

When an RB then gets taken in the top 5 and can’t get into the end zone consistently, it starts to become a bigger problem. Then he starts to fumble? I question the value

Heck, if we're just comparing rookie seasons, Zeke punched in 17 scores there. Who's to say Barkley doesn't have a scoring drought in his 3rd season as well?

I'll say it again: TDs come and go, because they're a high-variance stat. Have some patience. If a guy is getting touches inside the 5, the scores will come.

Just looked up some numbers here:

http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/nfl/84905/283/week-15-nfc-targets--and--touches

From games 8-14, Zeke got 7 targets in the red zone, and 18 carries inside the RZ. He has 5 touchdowns in that span, so one score every 5 RZ touches.

Over the same span, Barkley got 5 targets and 23 carries inside the RZ. He has 6 touchdowns in that span, or once every 4.66 RZ touches.

So for the last month and a half, the two guys are getting very similar scoring on very similar red zone workloads. Barkley had a nice debut with 7 TDs in his first 8 games, while Zeke only had 4 TDs in his first 8 games, but the Cowboys offense as a whole got off to a terrible start (variance independent of the player). Now that the Cowboys offense is semi-functioning, I don't see any huge cause for concern.

I would like them to get the criticism they deserve for putting the offense in a bad position. Neither Elliott or Prescott score enough to justify putting the ball on the ground 18 times collectively

And your argument is not a good one! The more you fumble the more chances you have of give the other team a chance to scoop and score!

THIS OFFENSE IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO SURVIVE THAT MANY FUMBLES!

This isn’t hard to grasp.
Is hard to grasp that Zeke should apologize for carrying the offense.

Get your barf bags ready as Panic Dak is going to the playoffs..lol...this Sack and Fumble King along with his horrid arm will once again dink and dunk the whole game hoping our defense and Zeke bail him out......

P.S. Don't forget the Barf bags....Dak will put up another show to be remembered.....

LOL...…….you can cut up Dak all you want. Doesn't bother me. Im not Dak Prescott. I just enjoy pointing out how absolutely dumb you sound.

Dak the sack king? LOL As if the line has nothing to do with that.

I hope you enjoy making the playoffs and that shiny new contract Dak will sign soon. Looks like another 5 years at least of trolling for you. Enjoy.

Dak has 12 fumbles
Zeke has 6 fumbles (tied with Cohen)

Fumbles come back to bite you in the playoffs - remember 2014 Packers game?

No excuse, hold onto the dang ball! 18 fumbles between our “Good QB” and “MVP RB”
Who are you rooting for in the playoffs?

It wasn’t less signicsnt when Murray had a similar amount of touches in 2014 and meant nothing when Peppers knocked the ball loose in the playoffs.

Per attempt

Elliott - 301 with 6 fumbles
Gurley - 256 attempts with 1 fumble
Adrian Peterson - 247 with 3 fumbles
Barkley - 244 with 0

If we are comparing, only Connor and McCaffrey look worse. But as it stands, Zeke is simply not holding onto the ball well enough.

There is more of a worry here with Dak, but putting them both together and then not scoring and they are a liability for this offense unless they clean this up quickly.

Looks like the trolls have to eat this one. Unless they are going to blame Dak for Zeke fumbling.

Zeke the fumble king!! LOL

If only Zeke had a REAL QB he wouldn't fumble so much. LOL

Zeke’s total yards rushing blinds people of his warts.

It’s OK if Zeke fumbles. It’s OK if he can’t find the end zone. It is OK if he steps out of bounds on a wide open would be TD reception.

It is OK because he will win the rushing title and Cowboys fans value stats over winning these days.

Or Zeke quitting in a game or getting suspended for being a moron and single handily ruining a season for us.

Ok so here is more evidence that has nothing to do with Dak. So in 2018 Dak was the QB and in 2016 Dak was the QB. And here is the big question...……...wait for it...………..wait for it...……………….

What is the biggest difference between 2016 and 2018 that might cause the big drop off in red zone efficiency and TD numbers for Zeke?

Not real worried about Zeke. The guy is taking a pounding. Dak's lack of awareness is more concerning.

They both suffer from a bad Oline. Daks lack of awareness would be better masked with a healthy Oline. If that is his biggest issue, and I can agree that it is, then recreating a top Oline would solve most of that problem. As in we didn't see much of that in 2016.

It's not all on the oline. Quicker reads and releases would take pressure off the oline and Zeke because LBs would be forced to play the pass instead of loading the box or blitzing.

No, its not ALL on the Oline, but its the biggest issue. Quicker reads, or a quicker release scheme would help. Having Mahones would help, but we don't have Mahones.

I don't think there is ANY offense that Zeke would be in that wouldn't be loading the box against him. He is THAT good.
