Perception would be completely different if the score had been Dallas 13 Colts 23.

Not for me. I don't think we can score enough to beat teams that can score a bunch unless our defense can pull off a run of games like it played against the Saints. Scoring 13 points against Colts would be on par with those expectations.

You can easily make the case, regardless of who ends up getting the last spots this weekend, that the Cowboys are the worst team in the playoffs.

But I also don't think they are that much worse than about 5 of those other 11 playoff teams.

That’s pretty much the case with the playoff field every year though, wouldn’t you say?

1-3 top tier teams per conference and about 6-8 lesser teams.

The question every year is, can one of the lesser teams get hot at the right time and go on a run.

Cowboys have had games where they weren't impressive. But so have the Rams, Saints, Bears, Vikings, Seahawks and Eagles have had games over the last month or so where they have either looked shakey or not super impressive/dominate. Even the Chiefs have lost their last couple of games and their defense is bad.

But, I'm fine with being the underdog, if that means going into the playoffs and catching teams off guard with some wins.

Meh........Pundits will be pundits.

I guarantee the teams aren't thinking that. Our defense can run and so can Zeke. ;)

Well, they deserve some “respect” for fighting and getting in. It’s quite something that the Cowboys did this when they could have just rolled over and played dead...like everyone thought they were before winning five in a row. They answered the call and defied expectations, something not many Cowboy teams of recent vintage can claim to have done. That said, the Colts totally mashed them, the Bucs turned the ball over but otherwise outplayed them, and the NYG are probably going to kick the hell out of a highly unmotivated opponent. So the Cowboys will likely be staggering into the playoffs like a bloodied, punch-drunk fighter getting off the stool for round 15. Seeing that is admirable but it certainly gives you pause if you are betting on them to win. Nonetheless, as others have said, respect in the playoffs is not given it is earned. We’ll see if the Cowboys can go out and earn some.

I don't remember a year where I thought we were the worst team in the playoffs.

Are the Colts in our conference or division? No.
Good game to get smacked with.
And what did the Colts do after that game....zilch. They laid an egg the next week. Look what we did to the Saints ? Are we that much better than the Saints ? Parity and how much intensity a team plays that week is the most important thing. Colts wanted the win more than us and same thing happened to the Saints. Now let the Colts come here totally different results would be dealt.
