Prescott’s best game this season

he is gritty, sometimes a 4th rounder with something to prove can be better than a golden boy. He seems to really want it, I mean I am sure they all do on every team, but I sense some urgency for him.
It’s competitive leadership.

Enjoy the one-point practice game win against one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Dallas remains 1-4 against winning teams.

The rest of the season is against winning teams.

they have 2 wins against the eagles..1-4 does not compute.

It actually is how it works.

Are you going to tell me the loss vs the Panthers was a pathetic loss? Or did we lose to a good team?

They finished 7-9
Don't understand your point , The discussion was beating teams with a winning record , not loosing to teams with a loosing record.

The POINT is

Teams dont always perform the same for an entire season. There are losing skids, injuries, rough patches etc.

Just because a team finishes with a winning record, doesnt mean they were performing at a high level all season.

Youre going to tell me that this Cowboys team right now, isnt significantly better than the 3-5 one at midseason?

The 5-11 Jaguars and 6-10 Lions, beat the 11-5 Patriots in back to back weeks.

sure they are and all the teams that beat them get credit for it , how do you distinguish that number on opening day where all teams are 0-0 are do you start at week 2? What about teams that are .500 ? What about both teams at .500 ?

Most places that keep up with sort of thing use the term finished with a winning record.

Where am I losing you?

Just because a team finished with a winning record, doesnt mean you faced that same caliber team earlier in the season. Those Eagles teams we faced with Wentz and their depleted secondary arent the same Eagles that went on to beat the Rams and Texans in back to back weeks.

I understand your point that teams go up and down during a season , don't think you understand mine though. What do the bean counters do? ignore the 1st week and all .500 teams when calculating? All the games matter.

All the games matter but if you actually examine how each team is performing at a given point of a season, then you should understand that final w/l should be irrelevant.

IE. The panthers whooped us week one. We both were 0-0, so that doesnt count as a loss vs a team with a losing/winning record. But anyone that was paying attention, knows that Panthers team was way better than the Panthers team that finished the season.

It would be lazy for someone to pin that loss as a “pathetic one” because of how the Panthers finished the season

You want to know what really makes this his best game? Because he put the team on his back, and played the full game to get that win when he didn’t have to. I think the weight of that message in terms of what it does for the lockeroom is huge. They’ll follow a General like that into battle thick or thin, when he’s willing to go out front first.

Yes because the Panthers started 6-2 , same could be said about the Steelers 7-2-1. Were those teams better than their final record , looked like it early on but the season is the test. Maybe the final records are a better indicator on how good a team is. Dallas started 3-5 but lost some close games , they were better than their record , so it goes both ways. Looks like we're never going to agree on this and that's okay.

Giving credit to Prescott. He played a hell of a game and attacked the middle of the field with no running game. This is the version of Prescott I long to see and hope he plays like this on a consistent level.

His best games in the last 2 seasons came against a going nowhere Giant team....if folks are happy with this then fan expectations for our Cowboys have sunken to new levels....hope is a good thing but usually sound reason wins out....I'll go with reason when it come to our Dak....and Saturday scares me as unfortunately we're not facing the Giants defense again...

I pray for a Super Bowl victory for two specific reasons.

A.) Because first and foremost, I am a Dallas Cowboys fan, and B.) because if it happens, I'm going to be as relentless with you and a few choice others in shoving the crow down your throat as you guys are in your incessant, and unreasonable, hatred for Dak.

To hear you guys yap, you would think Kevin Sweeney is playing for us.

I will be backing you up force feeding it to them through a tube if necessary LOLOL

Prescott in 3 seasons and less than 50 starts total has H2H victories against:

Eli Manning
Drew Brees
Aaron Rodgers
Matt Ryan
Ben Roethlisberger
Joe Flacco

All of whom won either league MVP, or Super Bowl MVP. All are likely HOF candidates. All but Ryan won a Super Bowl trophy.

He isn't perfect, but if games are largely decided by the better QB, perhaps he deserves a modicum of respect.

Maybe he earns it taking Russ out Saturday night.

I second that and would like to add that Dak is one of only 4 QBs that have played every single game the last 3 years . Durability and availability matter and give your team confidence that you will be there to lead.

Dak is a beast and uses everything in his skill set to win . He dosent have the pure passing talent of the multi million dollar QBs and the wins might not be pretty but every guy on this team will bleed for Dak because they know he is giving all he has . Im proud to have him as our QB
