He seems like a phenomenal leader. He’s undoubtedly been able to get through to Zeke in getting his life turned around.

While Zeke definitely has talent, Brown has helped him get the most out of it and turned him into a leader instead of just a good RB.

Coordinators are all the rage but if you want a good leader, Brown has to be up there.

I’m equally surprised that someone like Josh McDaniels is getting so much attention to the point that he is just simply turning down jobs. His time in Denver was a failure highlighted by drafting Tim Tebow in the first round. Teams seem to like retreads instead of finding new talent like a Gary Brown.

You also dont see many RBs Coaches get the call for HC interviews. Eric Beinimy this year is the only time I've seen it happen.

Gary is a local guy, raised close to my hometown, he played at Williamsport PA hs I think. I was around him a few times a few years back, great guy, humble, very community focused. I can see him not wanting to get into the circus of headcoaching, doesn’t seem to fit his personality. Regardless he is a great role model and person, I could see him coming back to the high school level eventually

For each of these guys there are a bunch of retreads for whom it did not work—Gruden as an example. The same is true of new coaches. For Sean McVay there is Chip Kelly.

There was a time when only the best DCs, OCs, and college coaches got HC jobs.

In Dallas you can be a macevellian, average OC and get a HCing job. You can even be a failed QB with no experience at all and become a QB coach.

It would at least open up possibilities to people other than Hue Jackson and when he was alive Dennis Green as token interviews.

They may provide feedback to Brown who may originally think he’s fine being a RB coach but may want to move up the ladder if he thinks he has an opportunity.

He’s a great leader. I’m not advocating for just any African American to get interviews, but ones that actually have outstanding leadership should be in the mix rather than guys who are just on that list of 7 the NFL put out

I don’t think a running back coach would garner much attention because most teams put no stock in a power run game.....

It’s sad because it’s nothing like watching beautiful counter gut with the guard pulling and trapping the d tackle opening up a massive hole

lets skip over the Rooney rule- I dont think u meant it the way it came out.

As far as rb coaches becoming hc- can u name any that made that jump? I dont give him much if any credit for Zeke. Looking at his other Rb's-they haven't been that spectacular. If he was any good Darius Jackson would be doing a lot better than he is and Rod Smith has been average at best. Giving him credit for Zeke is like giving Giants rb coach credit for Barkley. I'm not a fan of Richard as HC but he's getting nibbles because the whole secondary has improved-not just 1 talented player

Bieniemy is actually an OC. Teams may look at position coaches if they want a piece of his teams offensive system and if they can bring some of that scheme to them. I don't think there are a lot of teams clamoring for a piece of our archaic offensive scheme.
