Linehan and Garrett are masters of "it's not my fault" or "there was a problem with execution." In their minds, they don't make mistakes, it's all execution. Nevermind that every single player needs to play to perfection for their gameplan to execute right.

I've never seen them take any blame. There are always scapegoats. Richard acted like a man and fell on the sword for his players publicly and will probably chew them out privately. That's how a true coach handles it. They don't make excuses publicly or call players out publicly.

Which guy do you want to keep on your team?

Linehan isn't stupid, he knows his time is up and he has probably known that since they canned Paul Alexander at midseason. You can replace your OL coach, especially when you have Marc Columbo as the assistant. You can't replace an OC at midseaon, but the handwriting has been on the wall for replacing him at the end of the season for quite some time now.

You think???? There was a reason he was fired in Seattle....That was absolute BS when he chewed out Vander Esch on the sideline. All he was doing was trying to execute your dog Schlitz of a defesive plan of 6 guys in the box to stop Todd Gurley.

And Richard didn't adjust all night long.

I seriously hope...he's packing his crap right now for Miami. They can have him. The DBs regressed this season. Nobody in the secondary can find the football.

How many interceptions did we have as a team??? I know the number is beyond pathetic. And that is all on him.

See what happens when someone yells at Floaty worms Boise State boys.

QUIT trolling

I wouldn’t expect him to say anything different. It’s the kind of guy he is. However, his coaching didn’t have much to do with the kind of mauling that OL put on our front 7. You aren’t going to stop an NFL RB when you can’t even maintain a gap anywhere across the board.

People just looking for more angles to hate on garret. Who cares?!? I’d rather have gotten it done.

But yeah, Garret is about as stand up a guy as you’ll ever know. This is one thing you can’t kill him for.
Hate on him??? When did lack of results over TEN years in become ‘hate’

Sean Mcvey was under the drinking age when Garret was given control of the Cowboys offense, where in God’s name does the buck stop.

HEAD COACH - Heavy is the head that wears the crown, unless you have an endless line of stooges to take the fall. Why is this so hard for Cowboys fans to understand??

Well gee. If you want to talk about it then. Maybe you should have had less interviews with other teams for a job. And been concentrated more on our PLAYOFF GAME. Stuff the run.. Never had a problem like this all year....

Exactly, if there was ever a game we needed all hands on deck with the coaching it was clearly this one. They had no idea how to handle the rams offense.

That’s coach garbage to protect his players. The simple fact is,they had better players than Dallas could defend. Just man for man, they got beat and all the coaching and X’s and O’s can’t change that.
That isn't coach garbage he came out with a lazy behind scheme tonight. X's and O's can help, that hence Goff and Gurley looking way better now than before when Goff was looking like a 1st pick bust.

Good to see him take some accountability, but the players still gotta play. They got whipped at every position, they all kept losing their battles all night.

We can only hope that this is it for him. He's a gutless, backstabbing, back room politician turd. Good riddance!

To be fair we've never faced an offense like that all year. The scheme and coaching was sublime.

It will only take a couple of days to read stories about "Linehan is evaluating whether he wants to return...".

I doubt they fire him outright, but he has probably already lined up his next job. Probably a lower stress college gig that still pays well, its crazy what the college coaches are getting now, even college OCs.

Rationalize it anyway you like, but the Rams players are just better than ours.

It's like the guy who gets a D on his final in college because he spent the week prior drunk on the floor of a frat house. The guys on the other side obviously spent a lot of time studying. When you're outmanned, you need every edge.
yeah that only works in stupid Hollywood movies like Stripes. In reality, hard work always pays off.

Another big difference was their OL executed very, very well. I don't think our OL started the same five for more than 3 games in a row, in this game Aikman kept pointing out that the Rams OL had played all 16 games together. That kind of cohesion is one of big reasons our 2016 team played so well - and why this year we doubled the number of sacks allowed even with a mobile QB starting.
