Granted defense was bad..... i'm just talking about this specific play. You line up on that play. You bunch everything in close to the line of scrimmage. Have one wr in the formation. Your are essentially telling the defense what you are doing. Zeke had no shot on this play.

There are three things that bother me about this.

1. Your playing right into the strength of the rams defense. Literally right into it.

2. You ran the same play last week in seattle on a 3rd and 1 and got stopped.

3. As you proved in this very same game, the dak zeke read option is impossible to cover on 4th and short.

Its almost as if the coaching staff calls "safe" plays to avoid fan criticism. At the very least linehan has to go.

It was a long one, closer to 2 yards. Thought a bootleg would have been perfect or a pass off boot leg. A run didnt have a chance....this beat your man crap hasn't worked all year and we still do it.

Zeke had more room to maneuver if he veered a little more left.

If Dak had a pulled ball in and ran around end, a good sell to Zeke may have provided room to run.

I would have liked to have seen a different formation that gave the Cowboys more of an RPO on that play.

I would add, at what point do you expect your QB to recognize the defensive alignment, relate that to the play called, determine the probability of success and adjust accordingly?

Should a three full year veteran QB be expected to take that role?

We did get 14 points after going for it , and getting it, twice on 4th and 1.
