What are you going to do when we face a good offense and the defense gives up points?

Like the one by Amari Cooper?

The pass was a little high but the ball wwnt right between his hands. Should have been caught.

And I thought Amari played great last night btw. Just pointing out that it wasn’t all Dak’s fault...

Dak played pretty well.

Dak would have had to play AMAZING for the team to win last night. It would have taken an incredible, flawless game to win last night. And no, he didn’t play flawless. A few mistakes he did made and that was game since the defense played so poorly.
The Cooper miss was one of the ones I was thinking of.

Sure it matters what down you convert on.
If you add an xtra down 4 times, so get an extra try, your rate should be higher.
Nobody gave the Cowboys an "extra down." All teams get 4 downs. You either convert, or you don't. If you choose not to try on 4th, it's because you don't like your chances, or don't think it's necessary.

When you convert is irrelevant. It only matters that you convert, and Dallas did that a very high rate.

Lets be really clear here.

There is a difference between a defense giving up some points and what we saw last night.

The defense didn’t just give up points.

The defense gave up 250+ yards rushing. They had zero sacks, zero turnovers, and forced 1 punt.

It wasn’t just giving up some points it was a TERRIBLE defensive game.

What do you think the winning percentage is all time for teams that give up 250+ yards rushing, have zero turnovers or sacks or even QB hits and only force 1 punt.

And when your offense only rushes for 50 yards.

I bet you the winning % is less than 5. And that doesn’t matter who the starting QB is.

@percyhoward idk if those numbers are available.
"250+ rushing yards, 0 turnovers, 0 times sacked, and 1 punt" has only happened four times, and those teams are 4-0.

Teams with "250+ rushing yards, 0 turnovers, and 0 times sacked" are 35-1.

Teams with "250+ rushing yards and 0 turnovers" are 123-6.

Conversely, teams that score 22 points and don't turn the ball over are 22-3 since 2010, 33-7 since 2000, 44-10 since 1970.

Thank you @percyhoward

So like I thought. The numbers show that it would have taken an absolutely flawless game and probably a miracle play or two, from our offense, in order to win last night. Given how bad the defense was.

They also show that you usually win with that kind of offensive performance, and that's not even considering that the Cowboys were only allowed 8 possessions.

It's the Romo days all over again. Defense gets destroyed and it's the QB's fault for not putting 40 on the board. :muttley:

No it isn't

In the Romo days it was the defenses fault for giving up 50 when we scored 50.

You gotta expect a good playoff team to score 3-4 times.

Also, let me make it clear. This isn't a Dak thread or a blame the QB thread.

I am only going off what I was told around here and laughed at about...that Dak was gonna clutch it when this happened. He didn't, but that's besides the point.

The bigger point here is delusional fans that don't know what they're talking about.

That’s just silly-we had open receivers all night-what more do you want?
Throw the ball more if that's the case , stop hammering Zeke into stacked boxes. Spread the D out. Run the offense with a sense of urgency instead of this is what we do try and stop it

Here's one more: the Cowboys have never won a playoff game when the opponent scored more than 28 points.

Not with Staubach, not with Aikman, not with anyone.

Until last night, Dallas was 7-0 in the playoffs all-time when not turning the ball over.
