So sounds like Garrett wasn’t told anything. Said what he said. The Jones’ told him we have to meet. Then Garrett got amnesia.

How neutered of a head coach can you have. Does anyone honesty think a legit coach would come to this?

If Garrett has any pride left he should quit.

I'm told he'll make whatever changes the Joneses want him to make in order to remain the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

.

Or its just a timing thing. Garrett is asked questions the day after the playoff exit and gives the usual plattidues that he can give in his sleep - and sometimes does.

The next morning Stephen comes out stronger and faster than Garrett expected and he has to backpedal. Not a biggie IMO.

Actually didn't Garrett say what he said this morning on the radio? And then a few hours later Jones says the opposite. Then a few hours later Garrett claims he doesn't remember what he said this morning?

It's not a good look, that's for sure.

SL probably heard JG interview and thought, "I'm safe", then hear Jones interview and begins polishing his resume.

Wait, I was just told an hour ago that Linehan was a lock to return because of what Garrett said 12 hours after the playoff loss.
Not only were you told that (over and over) then you got to read people's minds melting at a wonderfully exhilarating rate!

I thought it was great! All those veins popping...
Years shaved off of goobers who freak out at every jot and tittle...

Great day!

Garrett went to Princeton. I know he sucks as a head coach but the guy is very smart. He can't remember what he said 2 hours earlier. Ya right. :lmao2:

There is an old joke in the Entertainment Industry. A big studio mogul calls a casting agent into his office and tells him to go see an obscure play in a small theater. Casting agent comes back the next day.

Mogul: What did you think?

Casting Agent: It was awful.

Mogul: I know, what did you think of the lead actress?

Casting Agent: OMG, the most untalented, unattractive, godawful -

Mogul: That's my niece.

Casting Agent: LET. ME. FINISH!

If I was Jerry Jones,... I would take stock of what has been accomplished during the Jason Garrett era honestly, objectively and without bias.

Have some good things been done? Yes
Has he been provided with what he has asked for in terms of coaches? Yes
Has the organization provided the players to succeed? Yes
Has there been success on the field? Some
Has the team progressed in a reasonable manner and in the time frame as expected for a coach of his tenure? No
Has the team achieved a similar result with other top tier coaches in the league? No
Has he helped the team achieve success on the offensive side of the ball as expected? No
Will more time and resources placed into the team obtain the objective? And this is where an owner must go with his intuition and gut- make the ultimate call of a Super Bowl is on the horizon under this current head coach.

If I was Jerry Jones- the answer has to be No- it’s time to move on. Why? Because now is the perfect time to move on. The pieces are in place, but a change in philosophy is needed. A different voice in the room is warranted. Otherwise you risk another total rebuild without the attractive pieces in place to attract the top tier coaches.

Jerry must place affinity aside and kick Jason upstairs and go hard after Lincoln Riley now.

I guess the Jones don't subscribe to that management philosophy that you back your guy, even if he's wrong. Garrett should be ashamed to overstep his boundary and make a coach statement. What's next? Think he's ballsing up to do the injury reports to the media next season? What the hell is Booger going to have to do if his HC actually starts acting like a HC?

This really is funny but really sad at the same time. Why in the hell is Garrett even giving radio interviews? Do these people not think the number one question from the fans and media wouldn't be the status of Linehan?

I can't remember what I said is the best he can do? Your OC's job is so unimportant that you can't remember saying he's coming back? And is he assuming that Linehan wants to come back without asking him? They haven't discussed this yet but he's talking about it on the radio?
