If Dak can hit Micheal Gallup Deep he’s another WR1

My guess is, you don’t watch every single pass attempt of the other QB’s in the league, every game. Like you do with Dak.

I did watch Tony for years. Tony didn't miss wide open WRs very often. Not near as often as Dak.

I don't have numbers for that. Possibly I'm wrong. But I don't think so.

When you have Zeke in your backfield, you get better opportunities for deep balls than other QBs. You don't need to be the best to have better numbers.
He's played three seasons, and during that time his 108.2 passer rating on 15+ yard targets is 2nd only to Wilson. When he targets a receiver at that distance late in a close game, it goes up to 124.2, which is the best in the league.

So while I get your point, I'm just asking how much better than that you expect those numbers to be.

I see QB’s misfire on deep passes all the time. It happens a lot. The ball sails and is a bit too deep. The ball is underthrown and forces the receiver to slow down or come back for the ball, the ball is too far inside and allows a safety to make a play on it, or a ball is too far outside and out of bounds.

These types of passss happen all the time to just about every QB in the league if you actually look for it and pay attention.

Dak’s stick out more to us cowboys fans because we watch every play of his and are emotionally invested.

But if you actually watch other games closely. You will see it happen often.

Brady and Goff both missed deep throws last night.....
The lack of creative deep attempts early bothers me. The lack of creativity overall bugs me. Dak will never be Mahomes, but with better fundamentals and coaching he could be good enough to do something special.

I think if Dak and Gallup put in the work they can get into sync with each other. On Gallup part he needs to know how to create more of a cushion down the sidelines. If you watch Cooper he will push to the inside creating more cushion as he works back to the sidelines. Often Gallup will go down the line but there is little cushion to help create separation down the sidelines. I think it can be easily corrected.

That's not speculation that's facts...... If you would take the time to watch the film instead of pushing the same stupid Dak hate agenda.

Wow!! Thanks for giving me the facts! You obviously saw the play differently. That's good for you. You're also obviously looking to argue with someone who hates Dak. I only hate him some of the time, so look elsewhere for your fight.

Well if you would stop saying stupid untrue things then I wouldn't have to call you out on it.

Lol...man, and I sure hate being called out by someone who clearly has unsurpassed football knowledge! Don't wet yourself there, sport. It'll be okay!

You're avoiding the question.

Your question isn't relevant to me.

My expectations of him are about *his* level of performance given the performance of the offense around him, not statistics dependent on the performance of the offense as much as him.

However we characterize the statistics, they'd be better if he missed fewer open guys, right?

Agreed, and I'm pretty sure Dak wasn't comfortable after attempting to make that play only to have Gallop stutter or just slow down on the route. Let's hope a good offseason and TC can get both of them to address the issue. Dak has to read that and just put the ball out in front of gallop and let him go get it. It was there ALOT this season, just for whatever reasons, and there are more then one or two, they didn't mesh.
How do you adjust to a guy stopping?

As with any qb. Just like their stats would be better if receivers didn’t drop passes, tds, or stop on routes.

Stats would be better also with better pass protection and a better scheme.

I was implying that gallop would learn to run through his routes, but I get your point. and the answer is, you can't. I was simply stating let's hope he, MG learns to stop doing that and runs the routs correctly, which will then let Dak toss that pass out in front to a running receiver...

I would say your perception is off then. Romo missed plenty of open receivers in his career. They all do. Dak misses more than some other QB’s, sure. But to say other QB’s don’t miss open receivers is just plain false.

Sure. My point was, if you think he misses too many open guys on the deeper throws, that means you think his stats should be even better than they are. Significantly better, in fact.

Dak misses them more often than most QBs. That's the assertion. Not that other QBs never throw bad passes.

was watching some highlights. Goodness gracious I don’t know if it’s DBs not respecting dak’s deep ball or Gallup’s speed but he consistently stretches the field and beats DBs in single man coverage

He shouldn’t have less than 800 yards 8 TDS next year.
that's a big IF
