Maybe, I don't think he gets that much guaranteed. Mack got 60.

If it's structured like Mack's, it'll really be like a 4 year 84 mill, 30m at signing, lower first year salary that's fully guaranteed with signing bonus, so will prob save 7-10mill cap hit.

Last two years are just for rights at cost, we'd take a $6mill hit after year 4 if we released him, but that's just from his signing bonus anyway.

Guaranteeds: Signing bonus + 2019 salary + 2020 salary + 2020 roster bonus + 2021 roster bonus.

Really, he could be released after year 3 since that'd be the last of his guaranteed money, we'd take the cap hit from the signing bonus over years 4-5 though.

First year cap hit will probably be under 15 mill, Mack's was 13.8 (signing bonus resulted in lower first year salary + no roster bonus)

He'll probably get 50-55 guaranteed.

Maybe cut that in half since he started to fade for the last half of the season.

3rd round comp pick if we let him walk. Not this year obviously.

If the back checks out I think you pay him.

Exactly.

There’s sticker shock and he undoubtedly see some nice guaranteed money but he’ll never see the full amount of the contract.

I think he’s a good player, but I just can’t see tying up that much salary cap into him. The problem though is we probably won’t have any choice. Hard to let a good defensive end walk when you have no replacement. Not sure what the right thing to do here is.

I'd rather see a 4 year contract. And to those that think Gregory will find himself a similar deal, good luck with that!

They have to be in the same neighborhood as the other two 2 defensive players who got contracts lately

Every player is unique. Tank is good. We need him going forward. But we can't be stupid and make another Dez type of contract mistake.

He's a good but not great pass rusher. He's a very good run defender. I think his value as a player exceeds his lower sack numbers because of his run defense.

But you can't pay outrageous amounts for run defense.

Everyone is now a salary cap expert on the forum.

Good players cost money. If you want to keep signing the Hurns of the world, don’t be surprised if the product on the field shows.

You don't have to be a salary cap expert to know at some point his salary cap number is just too high of a percentage of the cap.

$21 mil / year for Dak would be a steal.

No way in Hades I pay Lawrence that much. $17 mil / year is the maximum.
