IT's going to happen. We wanted him over Dez when they were drafted.

That was a crazy draft. 18 of the top 27 picks made the pro bowl. And some of the other guys like Rolando Mcclain, Bryan Bulaga, and Sam Bradford started many games after their first contracts.

Jerry uses the helicopter to go to work everyday - is he giving that up?
He can buy another one
Probably already is
I hear his boat has two heliports so he needs another one anyways

Quicker on his plane
And don’t forget about the boat
We can find a way to get him home I’m sure
They are going to have to dig quite a canal between Dallas and Austin to accommodate that boat.

Ive been against signing Thomas but if this happens I will be excited to see if he can regain his form from 5 years ago. Just a couple years ago Heath had as many Ints as Thomas.

I think jerry would throw whatever earl wants his way To help sign him

That's worked out really well for ol' Jerry since Deion, who coincidentally joined a roster of players who already had rings. Since then, Jerry's "splashes" have done little more than give him a headline on the day of acquisition. Overpaying for what's left of Earl Thomas isn't likely to turn out any better.

One of those high speed rail systems that flies by at over 200 MPH would be less expensive to build. Its roughly 200 miles from Austin to Frisco. Thats a 1 hour trip on this rail system.

Do it, Jerry. You can afford the cost.

he's definitely worth it at this point...nothing that is

I would sign him for around 7 or 8 million per year on a two year deal. That's about it. Basically take Lee money and give it to him. At least I wouldn't have to watch the horrid Heath whiffing on tackles all game long.

This is probably better anyway because they would have to have built the canal all the way to the Gulf of Mexico just to get the boat to Austin anyway.

The Cowboys can cut four underperforming contracts today and pay for the first two years of any Earl Thomas contract without impacting current cap room by one cent:

  1. Sean Lee - saves $7 million
  2. Tyrone Crawford - saves $6 million
  3. Allen Hurns - saves $5 million
  4. Terrance Williams - saves over $2 million
Two years of All-Pro safety play for "free".

Sounds great.

I would draft a DT with the 2nd pick thus negating Crawford. I would sign a TE in FA and sign Thomas. If we don't draft a DT high or sign one then we may need to retain Crawford. Personally I don't like our DL depth.

The replacements for those players cut would obviously cost something, and especially at WR where Beasley would be gone along with Hurns and Williams and it would be nice to spend more than minimum dollars to add to the position.

I would also sign a 3rd receiver. I like the kid from Tampa Bay actually.

I don't either, that's why I would do the same as you and draft one in the second round, plus I have Sheldon Richardson one a one year deal on my free agent wish list. The Cowboys have been interested in him for years, and he played for Richard in Seattle so he has familiarity as well.

Cut the dead weight and sign Thomas, Richardson, and roll the dice on Tyler Eifert at TE. All three would cost less in 2019 than what the above cuts I listed would save you.
