After Our Defense Looked like Wet Toilet Paper Against Rams

I'd say getting the OL healthy, settled, and coordinated will be the key to success. I think it's easy to see the problem in the game that ended the season as paramount, but I think if the OL had been more consistent during the whole season, the Cowboys might have won more games, earned a bye, and been able to put forward a fresher defense for the divisional round game.
Defense fell apart vs. the Rams but considering the whole season it was clearly a team strength. Offense and defense have both shown real ability in recent years; we just need it to happen both at the same time and the team can go far.

There wasn’t any other problems then. Our inability to self scout, alter tendencies, and make adjustments has and will continue to be our downfall and yet the hallmark of the JG era.
If there is one thing non coach related I would only say all the injuries the DL was playing with...
I don’t think it was a player problem really.

the team wasnt ready for it, so to compesnate, we promoted a really inexpreinced coach and kept the HC who oversees our abuse.
 
Chicago already showed the blueprint on how to beat Goff in December. Wait till after 15 seconds left on clock before showing your hand on D, so Goff doesn't have any audible help from McVay. He struggles when he has to read a D. Other teams carried that momentum and the Rams faltered down the stretch. Pats won the SuperBowl with similar tactics.

Oh, but we play our own game and don't worry about the other teams. **** me.

I'll take a stab at this and go with the fact our depth on D Line was the main issue. This with the fact our Pro Bowl LB was worn down over the course of his first ever 16 game season + 2 more playoff games??!! Right? I mean he and Jaylon looked Dog A** tired out there chasing people around. Doesn't matter if the Rams knew what they were doing or not if you are winded. LVE played 5 more games this year than he ever did in college. Just throwin this out there.

That's the thing. It was coaching. We were not prepared. We don't self scout or scout other teams. We have the mindset of we are doing it our way and riding and dying on that. No adjustments at all. Rams took advantage of this and ran the same thing all night and we had no idea how to counter act. We were out of position the entire night.

Exactly. We have one gameplan and that's it. If it doesn't work, we are dying on that sinking ship. We don't have coaches who know how to adjust and scout. And it starts with the clown we have in charge of all the coaches. Maddening.
