Mike Martz has coached the Fleet for 7 quarters and he's got 5 field goals to show for it.

I guess "the greatest show on turf" needs talent after all. :muttley:

Cracks me up that "WheelsUp" is a primary sponsor of the AAF. :muttley:

Rich guy planes - $17,500 initiation fee, $8,500 annual dues, plus the cost of flights. I'd love to have that service, but I don't have tens of thousands of dollars to spend simply to have access to it. I guess that's why JJ Watt, Russell Wilson, and Tom Brady are featured in their ads.

Anyone watching?
Watched all four games this weekend, or should I say I had the games on while doing other stuff. I paid a lot of attention to the San Antonio Commanders - several recent Cowboys playing. Gavin Escobar getting kudos for being the best blocking TE of the AAF, so far.
The game quality is a lot like preseason sometimes. I like the ball spot on the 25 yd line instead of kick offs. The extra points are two point run/pass plays only. Makes the scores more interesting. The uniforms, helmets, and team icons are interesting, but watching the Legend/Fleet game was difficult to follow with the uniform colors being so similar. Do they not have home and away unis? I like the AAF football icon. Interesting about all the teams being basically south of the snow line.

Yeah, no upstart league is going to ever compete with the NFL's money.

This league has a real chance.

I do wonder how it can co-exist with the XFL next year.

Sounds like a weird scenario.
I wonder about the home team locations of the XFL, what time of year, sponsors, and TV broadcasts?

What network?
AAF home page has live streaming as well. They really want people to be able to watch. Interesting about the NFL being a close affiliate. Lotta big time names involved in GMs, coaches, owners, and AAF league office.

It's not about a direct sales pitch like the Shopping Network or late night get rich quick advertising.

It's about creating group-think mentalities.

We've seen around here the power of group-think concepts. Somebody starts a narrative (often a media person) and people just on board like it's a life raft.

Narratives that have caused thousands of posts:

The Cowboys will trade for Earl Thomas.

Bryan Broaddus says (a few years ago) "Marinelli is going to Tampa Bay after the season".

Back to specific advertising. De Beers hired an Ad Agency in the forties that created the concept of Diamond Engagement/Wedding rings that had not been a concept previously. They were able to show celebrities with big Diamond rings and many other methods such that it became unthinkable for an engagement ring to not be a diamond.

Even people that are not influenced directly by advertising end up influenced by the followers. If I hear multiple people say that Beats headphones are great, then if I'm buying headphones that will be in my mind. In reality many of those people proclaim them great because it's cool to do it, not because they've actually compared them to other headphones.
Media driven madness. Beats is like Axe brand toiletries for men - pure BS.

"Arizona Hotshots"?? What lame committee came up with that name?
After several drinks, Cuban cigars, and rubdowns from wanabee cheerleaders, they pulled that one out of...
LOL, seriously, my younger brother is a firefighter.
"A hotshot crew, is an elite team of 20 wildland firefighters, the most highly trained in the country, which are prepared to battle the most serious fires nationwide."
Beats the "Legends." For crying out loud.
I do like the Orlando Apollos as a name. I really think San Antonio wanted to be the Rough Riders, but that is already taken by the Rangers AA team from Frisco.
