I know he's a former Cowboy but I haven't paid much attention to his career. Option for replacing Beasley?

  • DANNY AMENDOLAWR, MIAMI DOLPHINS

The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley considers Danny Amendola "iffy" to remain with the Dolphins.
Amendola carries a $6 million cap hit for 2019, one that can be wiped entirely off the books with no dead money charge. The 33-year-old was okay in his first season with the Dolphins, leading the team in catches and receiving yards while playing with abysmal quarterbacks. But the numbers overall were nothing to get excited about. Amendola does have familiarity with the coaching staff after playing for new OC Chad O'Shea in New England when he was the Patriots' WRs coach.

Dallas Cowboys[edit]
Amendola signed as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys on April 27, 2008.[18] His attempt to make it to the NFL was featured on the HBO special Hard Knocks.[19] Amendola was cut by the Cowboys on August 30 and re-signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers.[20] [21][22] He spent the entire 2008 regular season on the team's practice squad, and never saw regular season action.[23]

I don't know if there are better options or not. I mean, when he's healthy and playing with a good QB, he is really good. When he isn't, well, he isn't and then it's not worth it. Either way, our opportunity to have Danny has passed. I hated when we let him go and I look back on that as one of the dumber moves this franchise has made but it's done. No sense trying to recapture it. Move on and find somebody cheaper and younger IMO.

The 6M number is gone if he is cut. He would be a free agent going to the highest bidder.

I agree I would add he is also getting up in age and if Dallas does not extend Beasley I would just as soon see them bring in a younger player at the slot.

I'd consider...depending on price and whose left.

•Phillip Dorsett,Patriots...Id like having a Dorsett around the place again.
•Chris Hogan,Patriots
•John Brown,Ravens
•Andre Roberts,Jets
•JJ Nelson,Cardinals
if we were to get a vet f/a....just give me one of'm...please and thank you.

No. Draft hunter renfro he has exactly the route running skills needed for a slot receiver and can play outside

In recent years (the years since the Cowboys player acquisition and cap management has drastically improved), they have avoided paying older players both in terms of their own and free agents.

This draft seems to have a good number of slot receivers so rather draft one and save our FA money for what we aren’t likely to get in the draft
