Justin Houston - Pass rush option

KC eats any guaranteed left money in a trade. AAV is probably still high, but if the production winds up not worth the money you can cut him with no hit.

In terms of picks and cap dollars, Houston may have the biggest impact on the team at the smallest risk

I'd sign DLaw AND get this cat.

like the way that looks.

He’s exclusively played stand up linebacker in a 3-4. Would you ask him to change position to DE? Is that worth the risk of him not doing well? When Philly switched from 3-4 to 4-3 after Chip, we had a ton of guys who weren’t nearly as good. Connor Barwin, who did what Houston does, made the pro bowl in the 3-4, struggled as a backup DE in the 4-3.

Too risky
Too expensive
If they cut him I might think about him
He’s not an every down player in a 4/3 but he can still rush a bit
He would need to be much cheaper

Charles Haley is the only one I know who was not only successful in making the transition but IMO made the Cowboys defense dominant. He eventually started having back problems (think he had 3 1/2 good years).

Houston is done IMO. Watched KC all season because of Mahomes.

He’s still a productive pass rusher but he’s not worth a pick and 32 mil
In a 4-3 at his age he is more of a situational pass rusher
On a side note I watched them every chance I got
Very entertaining offense to watch
Mahommes is amazing but their scheme is also amazing though not many QB’s could do much of what Mahommes does

I can say with 100 percent confidence that we like our guys and will not 'take a look.'

Demarcus Ware was really good as a down lineman in Denver's 4-3. It can happen, but it's not always guaranteed.
