Guessing this means he's the new slot receiver, meaning it's unlikely Beasley's back.
I thought that Hurns looked constipated when he ran. That has to be difficult to play with backed-up sluggish bowels. This is just dumb. The guy couldn't play before the injury. He's too slow.
I like Hurns a lot as a slot receiver for this group. Still think we need some depth at the position though, especially if they now plan to do nothing at TE.
Not a smart use of financial resources.

He actually made some decent catches when Cooper got here.
He’s not a number one guy but we have the cap room and he’s a fine 4th or 5th option which is what he will be.
It’s not like him being here will keep us from signing anyone else. I guarantee we will be more than 4 million under the cap come week one.
I'm not sure they're done at the TE position at all. Don't rule out them still signing Eifert AND drafting one of the top 3-4 at 58. Two years ago they overhauled the secondary. Last year they overhauled the WR unit. This could very be the year they do the same to the TE unit. I've said this before, Witten was more an intangible signing. We STILL need a full-time quality starting TE. This is why I would rule out Eifert being still very much in the pic as a starter. IF/when he gets hurt, we're sill good shape with a rookie (58) and part-time Witten.

This is not news we have been knowing this for weeks. SJ and JJ said this awhile ago.
I guess I’ll be the first to say it but I know many are thinking it. Are they setting Garrett up to fail this year? Obviously it’s early and they could surprise us all but if it’s true that they won’t be in on the top safeties, want Hurns over Beasley, won’t sign Tank, won’t be big players in free agency, then what are we supposed to believe?
Fans dont make the decisions. SJ & JJ flat out said Hurns was gonna be back weeks ago.Actually, fans have been swearing up and down that the Cowboys wouldn't be stupid enough to bring him back a the ridiculous current contract terms.
Turns out those fans were wrong. The Cowboys are very much stupid enough.

My initial point was this is not news.Nobody ever said "fans make decisions". Fans are saying Cowboys make stupid decisions. And those fans are right. Smart teams don't pay $6.5 million for a 20-catch guy coming off of serious injury.
