Antonio Brown traded to the Raiders

I honestly thought he’d be traded to niners but he was forcing Steelers hand. Glad he didn’t end up on eagles.

Now imagine raiders traded Mack cooper a 3rd a 5th for Antonio brown 2 firsts this year (not including theirs) a first next year and a second next year

The Raiders got the best receiver in football and a 1st round pick for Amari Cooper, and 3rd and 5th round draft picks.

They won.

Won what?

We've already seen what Cooper meant to this team and how he helped turn it around mid-season. We've seen how he goes about his business. We see how he's earned the respect and admiration of his coaches and fellow players.

We've yet to see what Brown will do for the Raiders and more importantly what he'll do TO the Raiders unless he changes his approach and becomes a responsible adult. We have no idea what the Raiders will do with the pick and whether or not that player will amount to anything at the NFL level.

You'd think that, given the impact Cooper had on this team, the League would have stood up and taken notice about what an impact receiver could have on the fortunes of a team. Despite everyone knowing that, the best the Steelers could get for Cooper was a 3rd and a 5th. I don't know about you, but that tells me something.

Let this sink in....A corporation just gave this guy 30 million dollars guaranteed....And people wonder why the world is going to hell?

LOL

Talent wisetbis is an A+ type move but brown is a head case and gruden isn't known for getting along with players. Get your popcorn ready the off the field show is about to begin.

Looking at the draft value chart, we got Cooper for 680 points and Oakland got Brown for 295 points. Great deal for Oakland, but given the ages of the two players and the malcontent status of the two, I’ll take Cooper.

Won what?

Won the equation between Antonio Brown and a 1st round pick for Cooper, a 3rd and a 5th. They came out far ahead of where they were.

We've also seen Brown be the best receiver in football for the past 4-5 years.

When teams know the Steelers have to trade him, the value is lowered. That doesn't mean that Brown isn't the best receiver in the game.

That's why the Raiders stole him and ultimately came out far ahead.

Get some sleep today. Legal tampering starts tomorrow and you might want to be awake at midnight. A late morning wake up call and you won't even recognize this roster.

Time will tell on this deal!

Brown runs elite routes and Ben had pinpoint accuracy.

We will see how it plays out with less accurate Carr

Totally agree. I believe Brown will be as a few of the great ones were, and that's that he will have continued production at elite levels well into his 30s. Might be a minority opinion around here but mine usually are.

You've failed to acknowledge my original premise: The Raiders and Brown have done nothing yet. Meanwhile, Cooper's impact in turning around a failed Cowboys team and helping them get to the playoffs is a fact.

Remember all the off-seasons the Eagles and Commanders won year after year with their trades and signings? Remember all the championships that followed?

Off the top of my head, here are some "can't miss" "game changing" acquisitions from the past:

Albert Haynesworth to the Commanders.
DeMarco Murray, Nnamdi Asomugah, and Jevon Kearse to the Eagles.
Joey Galloway and Roy Williams to the Cowboys.

How'd those work out?

Kinda weird the parallel...

Less accurate Dak than Carr but Cooper runs precise routes too,

Interesting...

How could they? So by your premise all trades are failures until proven otherwise.

The fact is that Brown is a better and more proven commodity than Cooper. His ability is not in question no matter what he ultimately dyes in Oakland Las Vegas. He’s a proven better receiver over Cooper. Fact.

So again. Your premise is all trades are bad until proven otherwise no matter how established the player. Got it.

PIT gets 2019 3rd and 5th round pick for Antonio Brown a year after getting a 3 for Martavis Bryant. Not the return they wanted but he had to go and there were few intereated teams. According to teams that spoke to PIT, BUF was prepared to swap 20 and 9 and deal 2 midround picks

As we all know, that deal was dead earlier in the week because Brown refused to go there. In the end, Brown gets pretty much everything he wants except for going to a winning team. New contract and out of PIT with 3 yrs left on his deal. It wasnt pretty, but was pretty effective.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pittsburgh should have just bit the bullet and sent him to Buffalo anyway....Make an example out of him...and force him to retire.
I can't blame Brown. Im sure the night life is better in Vegas than Buffalo.

YOU are the one presuming Brown will play at the same level in a different system, with a different coach and most importantly, a different quarterback.

So by me arguing "not so fast", you're saying that I'm claiming that not only this trade, but EVERY trade is a failure.

You're with a not as smart as I thought you were or you're willing intentionally misrepresent someone else's position to try to win an argument. I find that very disappointing and sad.
