Face it guys, the truth is.......

Most free agents that want a multi year deal probably don’t want to come here because of the uncertainty of the HC after this season. At the same time, the Cowboys probably don’t want to make deals beyond a 1 year contract mostly for the same reason. When you add in the fact that the Cowboys want to keep the core together (Dak, Zeke,Amari,Jaylon), and Stephen Jones is charge of the money bag, this is what we get.

why cant people just buy into the fact that Dallas is not going to overpay for FA's? If they don't get the FA's on their terms then they are going to pass...simple as that. They focus on filling gaps with mid teir guys and continuing to draft well....its been the exact same story for the last 5 years....nothing has changed and its not a conspiracy or something to do with uncertainty...its just the cowboys plan, and whether you like it or not, 3 division titles and 2 playoff wins in the last 5 seasons is success, not as much as we want but still better than average.

I doubt they care. A new contract is a new contract.

Players don’t want to come here because we are offering significant amounts less than everywhere else.

I mean Patricia is already on the hot seat and Detroit has signed players.

All they have to do is watch the DLaw fiasco to decide this isn't the place they want to go.

Every big FA launches a billion Internet posts and they sign with the highest bidder 99.99% of the time. Earl Thomas was the first player in NFL history to run into the opponents locker room and beg the HC to sign him on National Television - and he still took the highest bid.

I thought the same way until realizing they really did offer 16 million a year to SAMMY WATKINS. 40 catches for 519 yards and only 3 TDS playing with Patrick freak’n Mahomes. That might be overpaying if you ask me.
I agree with your assessment though on the draft.

Actually a pole of all the agents for the players was taken and Dallas was the #1 destination for their clients when they become FA.
They all say that so that because they know Dallas will not overpay but do not want to give the teams they really want to sign them any "leverage"

Conspiracy Theories = Cowboys Fans
Dallas has not been know to spend on FA in the last 10 years so what is the allure. With equal contracts coming to Dallas is more money due to taxes if you look Dallas has "lost" out on FA to teams in states with stupid high state income taxes. Players think that naming Dallas will get them more money but really has that fact been proven, this is not the late 90's or early 2000's when jerry would buy a FA thinking he was a piece or two away for some reason they have gone in the other direction. ET is prime example after his little locker room show did he really do that because he wanted to come to Dallas or was he laying groundwork to use the possibility that Dallas would phantom bidder in the shadows? That show was a stunt to put Seattle and other teams on notice.

Is it because of the country club atmosphere and lack of accountability? They're certainly not considering coming to Dallas for a chance at a ring.

Believing agents is like trusting a used car salesman. Its all about drumming up chatter and innuendo to gain leverage in negotiations.
