There's an article posted up over on the Drudge report right now, apparently he'd requested a non- jury hearing and was scheduled to appear,
( I think it was for today?)
He's now scheduled to appear April 19th for trial after withdrawing his original request ,,,now here's the fuzzy part of the article that was the primary impetus for the thread,as it stated KRAFT had rejected a plea deal offered by the prosecution,in where charges would be dropped, if he would admit to the fact that he would likely have been convicted in a jury trial,,,now,, I had to study some over that odd offer in my mind, as from what I know about the he courts when charges are dropped, you walk,no sweat with over the shoulder looking back, yet, if they were dropped" with prejudice"
They could be picked up later on down the road of life& be refiled( the article didn't state & I don't know about Florida courts)
If Kraft Rejected the plea because he didn't want it on his compiled background record? Makes no rational sense, as the arrest to begin with isn't ever going to be removed, does anyone have an idea ( other than he was merely delivering bibles to the whorehouse& is completely innocent) as to why the terms of the offered plea agreement would be rejected? What's the upside, he's gotta go to trial now, which is what he didn't want to go down to begin with,,,it's a little fuzzy to me.

Thanks Gang:starspin:

I think the plea deal required him to also put in community service and take a class on prostitution and stuff like that. He's probably just looking to go to court, pay a fine and walk out. Or some plea that involves just that.

Why not go to trial?

Does anybody really believe the rich owner of a home town team that has won 6 SBs would ever get convicted? And just how would he get to have a jury of his peers, how many billionaires are in Massachusetts anyway?

He'll walk no matter what evidence is presented, then he can claim he was vindicated. I suspect he or someone else applied pressure to the prosecutors to drop the charges, then when that didn't work he went to plan B.

Regardless he'll not be found guilty...

My question to Mr. Kraft would be. Dude, you couldn't just save money and get you some luv in the New England area? Florida sure seems like a long way to go to get "your groin" worked out. lmao...Just sayin. :oldcouple:

He's pretty well known in New England, somebody could have seen him go in the place. Out of sight, out of mind was probably the thinking...

The town of Maranna annexed a chunk of north-central T-town a few years back & quickly initiated a 'sting' operations on the Asian massage parlors LOCATED in their new found revenue stream of it's A.O.

so what...ole Robert needed some luvin and a quick tug ..lol...He will get out of this. I promise you. MONEY controls the world.

Because there is more to this story than this just being prostitutes. I, for one, am not stupid enough to believe a man with his connections didn't know what was going on behind the scenes with that place - but whether they can prove it is another thing.

There is, supposedly, more than just one big name involved int his - if this place was bringing in high profile people, trust me, these gross dudes knew what was going on. But you're right, money will get him out of this.

As any "john" ever gone to trial over something like this?
I get it if the NFL wants to fine him because it looks bad, but that's about it.
Ha, they used to print the "johns" booking photo & name in the newspaper at one time ,here in T-town,,,kinda' like a public shaming operation.

Actually they do go to trial fairly often. In my small area we had a large sting and of the 10 people arrested 6 plead guilty and I think 4 had a trial. Of those 4 I think only 1 was found guilty.

The judge has granted the media's motion to intervene ( which means their one step closer in being able to air, to the public, video the prosecution claims to prove Kraft paying for the extra unadvertised services the Orchid's Asian day spa apparently offered, while attorneys for kraft clearly stated should the media's motion to intervene be carried out, it will be virtually impossible for the defendant to obtain a fair trial,,,also,,, the prosecution released the statement that there wasn't sufficient evidence to press forward with that whole human trafficking angle they were attempting to pursue.

EDIT:
There's a header up over on the Drudge, although how long, is 'News' movement dependent
