I'm not sure how the franchise tag works. I know we can trade Lawrence. But does he have to work out a deal with another team? Or can we trade him with his franchise tag salary in place?
The team that trades for him would work out a new deal but Lawrence has to sign the tag before a deal can be final

Yeah he'd have to work out an extension with another team which I'm sure he'd have no problem with. He just wants the biggest pay day. He doesn't care where.

I really, really hope this dude never plays another down with the Cowboys.

I think the only way he would be willing to sign the tag is if the team he would be traded to would have a deal in place with him and the team he would be traded to would only make the trade if they had a deal in place as well.

So he should be told he is free to find a team willing to pay his demands, sign the tag and trade his azz.

I'm so hoping this is addition to Lawrence and not a replacement for him. Hopefully it means Lawrence can come down a bit on their asking price. Quin and DLaw as ends....this could be huge.
Yep, if this is to replace DLaw we have gained absolutely nothing......if DLaw gets signed along with the addition of Quinn then we've upgraded.

I am not happy with it being a 1 year deal. This just means one more contract negotiation to handle next year and we all know they won't have the foresight to get it done early.

This speaks more about Taco than anything. I'm really starting to hate that pick - I didn't even like it in the first place though.

A first for a situational guy who isn't even in on a lot of passing downs. What a awful pick - thanks Rod.

Sacks next year

Quinn 12
Taco 11
Hyder 8
Armstrong 7
If that were the case, assuming Tank is traded, I’d take that in a heartbeat. Two pass rushers with double digit sacks, premium draft picks for Tank, and extra cap space. It’s a long shot but could happen.
