We won't have to not pay the QB because we pay Lawrence more than $20 million. I wish this kind of worrying would go away. Maybe it will when we settle on a deal with Lawrence and turn around and extend Dak (which I'm not in favor of doing this year BTW).

That's kind of the point. We WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY THE QB. We can't afford to pay that, plus this, plus Amari, plus Zeke, plus all the rest, to Dollar contract just because that's what they want to get paid. I'm mean, I'm sure you do wish this worrying would go away but the last time we let the worrying go away, we ended up with Quincy Carter at QB and Dave Campo as our Head Coach.

Fisher was on top of this from the get go and he's going to have the comp pick awarded to the Cowboys for Quinn by tonight. For his premium customers.

I've been sworn to secrecy.

I'd float word out about it anyway. I mean they're leaking Lawrence's asking price for the world to see, why not go all the way with it?

And if you move quickly on Ansah, you might still have some sort of a trade market for Lawrence left. If someone else signs him, there's no replace, ent option and one less team looking for a DE.

But, having said that, Ansah's recent injury history is concerning.
I’m not sold on Ansah

I'll agree to disagree on that. His numbers the past two years are in par or better than Mack's in virtually every category.
What has made Lawrence more effective the last 2 yrs, that Dallas didnt do his first 3? Blitz.

The more success the Cowboys have in their blitzes the more success Lawrence has. While Donald and Mack create their own production, Lawrence is a product of scheme. I dare anybody to look at the the scheme pre 2017 and the lack of blitzes. Dallas barely blitzed vs Rams and Lawrence was a ghost.

18-20mil is what he's worth it seems to this team. Now this team would be better with him, but they wont be lost without him.

So no conditions. Just a 6th round pick. That is outstanding.

I love the Cobb signing and this trade. I think the rest of the moves were typical FA dumpster diving that we've done for a while now.
Yeah, the Cobb signing and this trade are kinda the only ones that move the needle significantly. I do like Covington as a rotation DT though.

Yes!! Now trade D-Law, MAYBE sign Ziggy, AND with the picks you acquired in the DLaw trade move into the first round and draft Ed Oliver(I heard they LOVE him). The more I think about this, the more I'm on board with moving on from DLaw. It would suck to lose him, but you can't tell me we wouldn't be a better team with these moves. No?
I would LOVE this move

Wow. What a deal. Everybody wins.

The Cowboys get DE help at a lower cost than anticipated and for a very low draft pick.

The Dolphins get substantial cap relief by cutting a player that doesn't fit their new defensive scheme.

And Quinn gets to play on a team that clearly wants him and has a likely starting spot waiting for him. It's a good day for the Dallas Cowboys.

Question is...did we take on Quinn's whole contract? Not sure Quinn is worth 11 million...but then again....that seems to be the going rate.

Dolphins were reportedly asking for a fourth, holding out for a third, and they end up with a freaking sixth. Don't want to hear about how Jerry can't negotiate.

I felt like the Cowboys were the only team buying, and that the Saints were a leaked story to drive up the price. The Saints have Cameron Jordan and traded away their first round pick this year to get Marcus Davenport; if they were outbidding the Cowboys, then godspeed to them.
