Like the 2nd round, 3rd round, 4th round comp and 7th round pick. I am big Thornhill guy and think he's a much better prospect than a guy like Rapp that some think would be a good 2nd round pick. I like Hill at DT as well. Westry in the 7th is a worthwhile risk to see what Richard might be able to go with a disgustingly toolsy but raw CB.

Love? Ehhhh.

And frankly, I am not sure I need a LB in this draft but whatever. Would be curious to see who was left on Brugler's board when we took Love and Holcomb.

so weird seeing him in mocks. He was just a little kid running around when my son played high school ball with his brothers Jordan and JR.

I'm always curious when Dane says stuff because one, I think he's a solid evaluator and two, he works for(with?) the Cowboys directly so some of this is probably what he is getting from inside sources.

Trysten Hill is yet another defensive lineman in the draft I don't get the infatuation with.

I like Bryce Love as a complimentary back with Zeke.

Cominsky seems like a pick we would make. I would not hate it.

Westry can probably be had in UDFA but we like appearing clever.

Overall, not a bad mock.

For Love, I think I would rather have gone with Austin Bryant over Love.

For Holcomb, I'd rather go Grandeson or Watts or Fields.

That would be a great draft. Bryce Love would be a threat to take it to the house on every carry. He has the burst that a lot of higher rated backs just don't.

Overview
Frenetic runner with explosive engine that was grounded in 2018 due to lingering injury and substandard run-blocking. Love lacks the desired size of a volume runner, but his sudden burst and top-end speed offer home-run potential that is unlikely to be ignored by teams looking to add a big-play option into their offense. Love could find his calling in a time-share situation, but his ceiling as a pro might rest on his ability to run with decisiveness and threaten as a pass-catcher..
Strengths
  • Character considered an A+ by scouts
  • Highly intelligent and quick to process new information
  • Willing to play through pain
  • Keeps feet moving through his reads
  • Quick, controlled steps provide balance and on-demand acceleration
  • Wins foot races around the corner against linebackers
  • Burst and top-end speed to turn 16 yards into 60
  • Runs feet through contact as interior runner
  • Able to get skinny and squeeze through tight creases
  • Slides and pivots around big bodies littering his path
  • Rare ability to stay square in his lateral movements away from tacklers
  • Better pass-catching option than numbers would indicate

Thornhill is a ballhawk that would get the ball back for us.

I read that Hill was a bit of a knucklehead but he would be a great addition at DT.

Something is going on with Bryant. I don't know if he is still hurt or what, but he is not trending in the right direction.

He is also coming off a torn ACL he suffered in January. It would be a stretch to expect him to contribute a lot in his rookie year. Any back we draft needs to assume at least the workload that Smith had as Elliott's backup.

I just want to know if his attitude was just so awful that UCF's staff would just bench him for stretches of games at a time.

That's not good, maybe that would cause him to fall to the fifth round. We did take Jaylon in the second with his injury.

Bryce Love entered the 2018 season as one of college football's best running backs. He ended it with a torn ACL in Stanford's final regular-season game, reports Yahoo.com's Pete Thamel. Love had surgery on Dec. 18 and plans to attend the NFL Combine in February, where he will be limited in his participation but will be able to meet with teams.

It typically takes 7-9 months to recover from ACL surgery.

Jerry's war daddy who he personally scouted would be too hard to pass up here for the FO. I also have a hard time seeing them pass up. Sternberger, Evans and Wise in the next spots.

Dallas
2. Juan Thornhill
3. Trysten Hill
4. Bryce Love
4. John Cominsky
5. Cole Holcomb
7. Chris Westry

Yuck. I’ll be pissed if it’s anything close to this. That’s about 4 rounds too high for Hill. He’s a total project.

On the flip side - not a good one either

No Dylan Mack drafted. Seems awful early for Trysten Hill. Other than that it looks about right to me.

Wasnt that before his pro day? his lack of agility is a big concern but he can really rush the passer at LDE
